The real women thing really boils my piss. Women who are a size 8 are real too oddly enough.

Krumbum · 15/06/2012 13:32

My eyes are burning!!!

ThisAintKansas · 15/06/2012 13:32

Oh my God, they're huge Hmm

All bollocks, innit?

ohchristFENTON · 15/06/2012 13:33

boils my piss

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 13:35

Haha I thought that would irk folk the "real women" reference, as well as implying the women they've used are reet chubbers.

To avoid piss boiling can I choose to believe they mean ordinary women not models?

Oh, I thought this was going to be a vegetarian complaining about the local County Show.

They need to lose the stupid red dress and swimming cossies

And mix it up a bit with male models

Dieting seems to be such a 'female' thing but plenty of men watch their weight too.

manicbmc · 15/06/2012 13:38

Piss also boiling here.

And yeah that Katona woman lost 3 stone on the diet and didn't have it all sucked through a tube Hmm

FreudianSlipper · 15/06/2012 13:38

real women fucks me of too

it is so patronising

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 13:40

I always think that worra, there's many times where I rage at DH about all diet/fat free pro biotic/laxative ads being aimed at women

OP posts:
Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 13:41

AND I wonder how many times they can suction you before it's dangerous?

I don't know, Cockwomble, but I'm willing to test it out in the name of science if you'll stump up for the lipo. Grin

WorraLiberty · 15/06/2012 13:44

It's when she parks her arse on the plastic table...trying to make her body look like the letter K that pisses me off.

She has a faraway look in her eyes, just like a cat has when it's taking a shit.

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 13:45

oh worra you made me laugh out loud with the cat shitting! Haha Grin

Couldn't see any plus-sized women - have they actually printed the right photos i wonder??

HandMadeTail · 15/06/2012 13:49

My favourite ad was that old Dove one, which had a lineup of women of all different shapes, and skintones. (One had surgery scars IIRC)

I feel quite loyal to Dove, as a brand, because of this realistic portrayal of women. (They were all lovely BTW)

Latara · 15/06/2012 13:52

I too hate it when they say 'real women' - all women are real if they're alive aren't they??

AThingInYourLife · 15/06/2012 13:56

There is something deeply wrong with the fact that the women in those pictures are "plus size" models.

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 13:56

Exactly athing!

In the fashion industry, all plus size means is models over the sample size which is 6-8

SugarBatty · 15/06/2012 13:59

What is classed as plus sized anything above a size 8? I always think that shops like evans must use size 16 models at the very least. And even then I think they really size 12 but just wider iyswim! Evans starts at a 16 which is my size but I never shop there because I can get much more fashionable and cheaper clothes from other shop ranges. And there size 16 is massive and much too big for me anyway. I think they should use larger models as I'm sure most people who shop there are bigger than size 16 which most other shop ranges go up to. I find it hypocritical that a shop aimed at "plus size" (I hate that term!) Uses models smaller than their range anyway!

I would genuinely prefer to see clothes on a mixture of sizes in adverts and sure everyone else would too. Do they really think people are that thick to believe the special k women are "plus size"

SugarBatty · 15/06/2012 14:00

Meant at the very most!

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 14:01

proud The product is aimed at the general population not at the fashion industry though.

There is something VERY wrong if general people over a size 8 are classed as plus sized.

"In the fashion industry, all plus size means is models over the sample size which is 6-8"

That was my point.
