just got a bit of a back lash in the office as I said that its not music its just noise! hee hee. Is that a sign of age!?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 12/06/2012 13:23

YANBU it's shit and I've hated it since I was about 14

notnowbernard · 12/06/2012 13:23

Radio 1 IS shit, though Grin

And the presenters are even worse. As long as you don't advocate Radio 2, you're safe

Babylon1 · 12/06/2012 13:24

If it's not radio 2 then it's not on in this house or car Wink

Babylon1 · 12/06/2012 13:25

Ah notnowbernard we may have an issue!!! I love radio 2! And I'm not old either!!!

Booette · 12/06/2012 13:25

YANBU. I've never liked radio 1, even when I was a teenager. I always preferred radio 2. Maybe I've just always been old?

Goldrill · 12/06/2012 13:26

Detest R1 and always have done. Not an age thing - YANBU!

MissPB · 12/06/2012 13:27

YANBU - I haven't listed to it since I was 16. Radio 6 Music is best for me!

maudpringle · 12/06/2012 13:29

Can't stand radio 1, haven't listened to it since about 1993 and all the ladette crap.

monkeymoma · 12/06/2012 13:29

doesn't make you old, R1 is full of oldies anyway, its all people who were cool in my youth and now talk about thier kids and baking and keeping fit in middlish age???? R1 is not down with the kids anyway so how does not liking it make you old?

(I do like R1 but I grew up with those DJs, they're oldies like me now! )

notnowbernard · 12/06/2012 13:30

I find R2 really, really dull

Can't get past Terry Wogan, you see

MsVestibule · 12/06/2012 13:30

Pre DC (aged 35), I used to listen to nothing else. Two years and two DCs later, the music they played, all of a sudden, became just noise, and the presenters inane.

So definitely nothing to do with age AT ALL Wink.

monkeymoma · 12/06/2012 13:31

and Barbara Windor - eugh!

PostBellumBugsy · 12/06/2012 13:33

In my office, it is the old people that like the radio. They listen to awful Gold or Magic with ghastly ancient pop songs creaking out. Makes me want to slit my wrists.

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 12/06/2012 13:33

I can't stand R1, the presenters piss me off. Chris Moyles and Sara Cox in particular, all their inane drivel just gets right on my nerves. The music is poppy shite.
R2 is great, I turned it on the other day and they were playing Guns and Roses, how fab!

I tend to listen to Star, Heart, Kiss or Xfm. I hate the adverts though!

Magneto · 12/06/2012 13:33

I'm 22 and I've always thought it was shit. Much prefer radio 2.

notnowbernard · 12/06/2012 13:34

You need FIP or R6

ScrambledSmegs · 12/06/2012 13:34

Radio 1 is shit. I've hated it for ages. Used to listen to Xfm till that went badly downhill, and now 6Music is what we listen to here. Good range of music, interesting presenters, no stupid jingles Smile.

Radio 2 in the car as we don't have digital.

Ormiriathomimus · 12/06/2012 13:34

I hated it from the age of about 17.

Mind you having been subjected to the aural toxin that is local music radio by DD I find radio 1 is more mysteriously more appealing...

Pickles77 · 12/06/2012 13:35

i hate radio 1, im 22 and im not ashamed to admit im a proud jeremy vine radio 2 listener.... my parents are ashamed i do this tho!!!

monkeymoma · 12/06/2012 13:35

Sarah Cox makes me laugh because she's so UN-cool like me its kinda hillarious that they still have jobs in the industry when they are well past their cool prime

hate fern though: "me and my best friend holly had an amazing time baking cup cakes blah blah blah"

notnowbernard · 12/06/2012 13:36

Equally nauseating is Heart, which my 8yo DD loves

Though i enjoy the odd Time Tunnel Blush

CockyPants · 12/06/2012 13:36

Fearne cotton. Sara cox. What a couple of morons....
I like Chris Moyles, though.
I'm 42Blush

cuteboots · 12/06/2012 13:36

Pheww thanks for the feedback on this one . I got a major ear bashing from people here.

ComposHat · 12/06/2012 13:37

John Peel aside - I stopped listening to Radio one when I was 15 (when mark radcliffe was shifted to daytime) it was radio 4 from then on in.

CockyPants · 12/06/2012 13:37

Bring back mark and lard Grin
