I'm shocked and horrified at the amount of people who say they are 'shocked and horrified' at things that don't really warrant shock or horror...just a bit of an eyebrow raise and perhaps a spot of pearl clutching for good measure.

I think it's shocking and horrific if I'm honest Shock Grin

Oh my eyes!!!! I'm far too young to be exposed to all this clutching of pearl necklaces!!!! :o

MsVestibule · 09/06/2012 21:39

I wore my dead Grandma's bee-yoo-tiful real pearls on my wedding day, and very proud of them I was too. Not so keen on the smutty jokes and innuendo from my so called friends and even my then new DH Hmm.

In fact, I would go so far as to say I was shocked and horrified, and haven't worn a pearl necklace since.

Oh, you can tell it's a Saturday night and the football's on...

amieis · 09/06/2012 21:39

And also terribly shocked and horrified!!!

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:40

Well that's it now Squeaky...I'm sitting here in floods of tears.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:41

And I mean literally floods.

Some bastards have also nicked the swim toys I had for just an emergency....

OP posts:
KalSkirata · 09/06/2012 21:42

Is there something smutty about pearls?

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:44

Probably more sticky Kal....

OP posts:
amieis · 09/06/2012 21:44

DashingRedhead · 09/06/2012 21:44
MsVestibule · 09/06/2012 21:45

KalSkirata why don't you Google it and let us know the results?

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:45

Oooh don't mind if I do Dashing Wine

OP posts:
KalSkirata · 09/06/2012 21:47

sensuallettuce · 09/06/2012 21:49

Grin
MsVestibule · 09/06/2012 21:50

I've just googled "pearl necklace" and was actually quite disappointed to find...

... adverts for pearl necklaces Sad. So much for t'internet being all smut.

AgentZigzag · 09/06/2012 21:50

Are Anything But worse than pearls then Kal? Confused

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 09/06/2012 21:50

I am shocked at how many of you have admitted you have pearls to clutch, but get cagey when asked if you have a flat screen tv and a goat.

I am horrified at Worra, but on general principles Grin

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:52

sensual Sad

You can have a good clutch of mine Grin

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:53

I have a flat goat in a cage if that's any help Honey

Changethatbulb · 09/06/2012 21:53

Dashing what Adam and the Ants track are you listening to?

I have my real fake set of pearls that are still lovely which I will gift to my daughter if she weds (but I have told her not to, so she will get them on her 18th).

Pearl necklaces... ahem. Right. Didn't even need to Google that.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 09/06/2012 21:57

I approve of flat pack goat, that is exactly the correct amount of humbleness for Mumsnet.

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 21:59

Phew thank God for that

I bought it with the Ikea vouchers the dole sent me Grin

"Haven't got any pearls- can I clutch yours, Worra? Or would that shock and horrify you?

Not so much shock and horror but more of a "STOP, THAT THIEVING BASTARD FROM GETTING AWAY!!""

Deeply shocked and horrified by the language on this forum Shock

(where is the horrified emoticon? We haven't got one??? That is shocking!!!!)

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 22:04

You're right cory, the horrified emoticon should be this one Shock with it's hair standing on end and a string of pearls round its neck.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 22:06

And now I'm shocked, horrified and apoplectic with rage at the blatant misuse of that apostrophe in my last post...

OP posts:
cory · 09/06/2012 22:08

The apoplectic emoticon will be the shocked emoticon, but bright purple, non? Or are pearls associated with apoplexy?
