To ask why some people think McDonalds is the devils food?

What have some people got so against it?

I use macdonalds not so much as a treat but more when I really cannot be bothered or we're back really late which usually comes once a month. Everytime I go it's always really busy, weekends it's absolutely full of kids so people must be eating it and they're not all dead/obese/chav scum. So why is it so frowned upon by some?

They serve beer in Paris! (and to those visiting, it is the cheapest beer you will find there and it is fine). I disagree with previous poster who said the chips taste of salty cardboard. I used to live in Paris and to me they are the best French fries/Frites outside of Paris.

Their problem is their branding now (Red & Yellow? Mc this, Mc that, Ronald McDonald (?!) but they are very clever and are changing by tiny degrees so that most people won't notice.

In the Middle East you can't get regular fries, only medium which is about a UK large. I am all for globalisation, it means I can live anywhere. I also do not think it is obscene for companies to make money, good luck to them, just wish I had come up with the concept. In fact, thinking about it, the only thing I can't get here is the Guardian or the Sun. Such a terrible shame.

To answer the question they are an easy target. Rich and successful and powerful. Because in the real world that's how things work.

Are helping to destroy the environment - meat production is the single biggest contributory factor in the destruction of the environment

They price their happy meals so cheaply that they become a dietary staple for many poor families, in this country too, who'll buy a £2 happy meal for their kids - why do you think obesity is on the rise with our children being raised on a diet of this rubbish?

Please don't be fooled by their marketing. They only care about your money and don't give a fuck how bad their food is, and how bad the conditions are for the people and animals are involved in its production, as long as they get your money.

I don't use McDonalds because I think what they serve, under the guise of 'food' tastes like shite.

That's how capitalism works, remember that next time you buy anything that is made outside of the UK. No point in getting huffy about one thing whilst wearing made in China knickers, typing on a computer made where?? Wasn't bloody Chalfont St Giles was it? I just think it is better to be honest and realistic about this stuff. We all boycott what we believe we should. For me it is LUSH products for their hypocrisy whilst pretending to give a flying fuck about their customers and the environment. Remember Plane stupid? look at that campaign and then look at their exports. There is a shop here in Doha, guess how the stuff gets here? Also, it has not been disproved yet that to get around the animal testing they just buy ingredients from China. i don't know for sure if that bit is true but I hate the fact they support militant sixth form left wing shit and are as greedy and capitalist as anyone else. Whereas, I discovered yesterday in the shop here that UK Primula products are 100% profits to charity, they don't keep anything at all. Why don't they advertise this more widely? Maybe they do there but on export stuff here there is nothing. (nb probably just as much salt and fat in a tube of Primula than a BigMac but this household is having it, under duress or not!)

If people are eating/feeding it to their kids every day then it is a problem. A burger and chips once in a blue moon isn't going to hurt.

I am 45 and have never had a Mcdonalds
I am a veggie & just don't want to eat crap veggie food on plastic chairs in an overly bright room that's very noisy! I wouldn't get a take away either, no point. My veggie food is better than theirs.
My 4 kids have had Mcdonalds a few rimes, but it doesn't seem to fill them up. Weird when something is about a million calories but you still feel hungry after.

If I have to, I'll have a tea...and use the loo.
