Ok every night dd3 has a story and then we (still) read 'That's not my polar bear'. She has loved that book for about 4 years.

Anyway the other night dd1 was reading to her and started chucking in some french phrases here and there. Dd3 loved this and giggled her haed off so dh had a bright idea........

IslaValargeone · 06/06/2012 20:47

Exactly how many parts is this thread going to be in?

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 20:47

He got the book and translated it in to FRENCH!

He then wrote out his translation and stuck it at the back of the book with a fold out flap so you can read it alongside every page.

Now dd3 won't have the damn thing in English anymore.

whattodoo · 06/06/2012 20:49

Zut alors!

minimisschief · 06/06/2012 20:50

well that was dull. you could have saved time by putting it in the first post or even better not posting it at all

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 20:50

I'm sorry I couldn't bear to put it all in one post.

What am I going to do? I buy Fruit shoots for heavens sake! Now I have a 5 year old who's demanding a bedtime story in French.

How did this happen?

Nothing wrong with learning another language but at bedtime?

CheerMum · 06/06/2012 20:51

Maybe balance it out with a Griggs sausage roll to go with story time? Grin

ReportMeNow · 06/06/2012 20:51

No, he has to do this loudly in a supermarket to be poncetastic.

Might have to be in Latin as well.

Magneto · 06/06/2012 20:51

Excellent... I'm going to translate "Goodnight moon" into French. And then the Gruffallo.

"Zut Alors! M'aider! C'est un Gruffallo!!!"
