I almost can't bring myself to tell you what he's done.

BonnieBumble · 06/06/2012 20:52

He has most definitely crossed a line. And has too much time on his hands. Grin

Unlurked · 06/06/2012 20:53

Oh yes Latin would be far more poncetastic. Do that next.

stressheaderic · 06/06/2012 20:54

Tres poncetastique.

Hassled · 06/06/2012 20:55

Tell him he's failed my accredited and highly regarded Ponce Test. It should have been in Latin, obviously. Latin or possibly Catalan.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/06/2012 20:55

Ha ha ha ha ha. Brilliant.
And some of the comments on here are hilariously miserable Grin

Hassled · 06/06/2012 20:55

X post :o.

But now I'm thinking Iambic Pentameter was the way to go.

thatisall · 06/06/2012 20:56

awww that's lovely Stop BU op :-)

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/06/2012 20:56

We do the E17 version.
We cut out bits from OK magazine and stick them under flaps made of fag packets.

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 20:56

Does it count if we're in a supermarket and dd3 says 'when we get home can you read 'that's not my polar bear' in French' - because she did say that today but thankfully we were in the car in a traffic jam so nobody heard her - but it got me thinking of the risks in the situation.

What if she tells her teacher? She's going to think it's part of some sort of scheme isn't she? She will in fact think I am some sort of insane Tiger parent.

Should I leave him?

OP posts:
klaxon · 06/06/2012 20:58

Would you like me to send you my copy of 'The cat in the hat' in latin to wind him up?

CheerMum · 06/06/2012 20:58

Could he translate LullabyHullabaloo for us?

CrazyAsBatshit · 06/06/2012 20:58

"A protero et comprimo" - A squash and a squeeze!

Hassled · 06/06/2012 20:59

MrsDV :o

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 21:00

Dh never studied Latin. That would be a closed book to him.

I did though........

Oh NO! It's infectious........flee, save yourselves........you'll all be looking up the Italian for ' bear hunt' any second.

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 21:01

Amo, Amas, Amat, Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

klaxon · 06/06/2012 21:02

Seriously, I bought it in Oxfam to piss off my DH for 50p (worked too - DD asked for it for four nights and laughed her head off when he valiantly tried to read it).

Tis great for sticking in book bags to make reception teachers twitchy.

Hassled · 06/06/2012 21:02

I have the Tale of Jeremy Fisher translated into Latin (Ieremia Piscatore, I believe) and autographed by the translator whose name actually was Jeremy Fisher. He was the Latin teacher of an ex boyfriend. If you were called Jeremy Fisher and taught Latin, you'd have to be the man to translate Jeremy Fisher, wouldn't you?

NomenMutante · 06/06/2012 21:03

I'm going to run the Gruffalo's Child through Google translate

Northernlurker · 06/06/2012 21:05

He would as well. Freak.

OP posts:
ReportMeNow · 06/06/2012 21:06

You know you're going to buy it

stealthsquiggle · 06/06/2012 21:07

Magneto I dithered over a whole display of Gruffalo books and merchandise in a German airport the other day - I fancied the idea of sending DS to school with a German Gruffalo pencil case. But then I gave myself a good slap decided they were too expensive.

Mrsjay · 06/06/2012 21:07

I feel i want graham nortons chair for that story Grin

DoesItComeInBlack · 06/06/2012 21:07

He perdido a mi madre. Calla monito no voy a llorar en ayudarle a encontrar a su encontrarla, dijo la mariposa. Vamos a tener un centro de estudios, qué tan grande es? Ella es grande, dijo el mono, más grande que yo.

Monkey Puzzle en español.

openerofjars · 06/06/2012 21:08

For some reason DH taught DS left and right in Latin, so DS has one foot called Sinister and one called Dexter.

That goes down a storm at nursery, I'm sure.
