to use bondage tape on dd and dsd?

Dd and dsd both 4 are into the little mermaid at the moment. Dd found a Christmas stocking in the toy box and was wearing it like a fin.

This of course caused arguments because dsd wanted a fin too. I remembered that I had a roll of pink bondage tape in the grown up toy box so I used it to bind their legs from knee to ankle leaving their feet Aw flippers.

The girls were made up with their mermaid tails and had lots of fun but when dp came in he was less than impressed.

The tape is like punk plastic on a roll that sticks to itself but not clothes or skin. It's quite flexible and easily torn to remove it.

So was I being unreasonAble?

I have read many threads on here where people have used their children's toy Dr's kits, till for shop role play etc with their partners. I'm not suggesting actually using them for sex (nor have I) but objects are objects and as adults we should be able to seperate sex from innocent play.

Exactly what chibi said. It's not the material itself, it's the fact that you bought it to tie each other (I presume) up, in a sexual context, and your DP came home to find you'd used it to tie up your girls.

I don't know, it's like finding you'd let the kids use condoms as water bombs or something. Would that be weird or fine with people here?

I really wish I could find and knew where to find the thread about the couple who played shopkeepers - I think the OP's OH had a thing for the shopkeeper uniform or something? - and ended up having a great night of sex as a result.

They toys were left clean and unharmed in the making of the thread

Just another angle here - IF dsd goes to her mum & describes what you've done to her & she knows what the tape is (the mother I mean) it could cause problems between your families so i can see where your dp is coming from.

It's a very personal decision, as i said at the start of the thread, i could not feel the same using the tape on my DP once i had used it on my DD's. I know because we had a opposite similar incident.

The image would stay with me and it would kill off any sexual response.

So if your DP feels that way, you have to respect that. It doesn't matter what anyone else's opinion is except the person that you are having sex with.

What do crafters do with tape that only sticks to itself? What are its nonsexual uses?

We have plumbers' tape in our bathroom. It is not like bondage tape. It isn't very flexible.

I agree it may have put DP off using it together for awhile, I can live with that, it was not often used anyway, we have a black roll too.

I get on well with DSD's mum, and she would not be bothered, she would probably be glad that I make sure things are fair for her DD and probably ask to borrow a bit.

Thanks to those can see that tape is tape is a mermaid tail or anything you want it to be. maybe the black roll could make ds into darth vader.. he would LOVE that!

If it makes him feel better about it, we use the same stuff for various dressings and splints in hospitals . Labelled as self-sticking tape not bondage tape in the storeroom!

If you buy Mermaid tail tape, and then decide to use it for sex, is that okay, or is that out?

I used to work for Ann Summers and can vouch that the stuff has myriad uses. I still have "Tickle Ties" which are a long length of baby blue ribbon with pink feathers on the ends, marketed for use in bondage. I use them to tie my hair up because I like having feathers and flowers in my hair. Am I going to scar my DS for life by having a sex toy on my head?

I bet the kids would have loved the tickle ties. Mermaids abandoned in favour of being parrots. The kids can use the tape for playing doctors, plumbers etc OP so it won't be wasted.
