If the dc are asleep and the parents wanted to order a takeaway, wouldn't Indian or Chinese etc be a more obvious choice than pizza (which is often eaten with the dcs anyway)?

OP you are funny. And I am beginning to agree about the fake tan.

StateofConfusion · 05/06/2012 15:01

Yabu and weird.

rainydaysarebad · 05/06/2012 15:04

Why would parents order food after puttings kids to bed? That's cruel. Why can't a family enjoy a take away together?

yellowraincoat · 05/06/2012 15:05

It's cruel?

What? What on earth are you talking about?

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 05/06/2012 15:12

OP is musing in a mildly amusing way. It used to be what AIBU was about.

SecretNutellaFix · 05/06/2012 15:15

I am howling with laughter at this thread.

Seriously? You got your knickers in a knot over a pizza???

Mrsjay · 05/06/2012 15:20

I don't get the musings though Hmm I am usually quick on the uptake but not today

I had takeaway Chinese with some friends once. Never again. Before we'd had a chance to even look at it, they had dumped all the different dishes on one plate and mixed them up together. It was abhorrent.

HRHcatgirl1976 · 05/06/2012 15:45

Jamie Shock

That's barbarism

I don't think I could be friends with people like that

I am very protective of my food. That would have made me cry :(

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 05/06/2012 15:47

I know. All the joy was sucked from that meal. It was just a mess

Trills · 05/06/2012 15:48

Mixed them up? Oh dear.

HRHcatgirl1976 · 05/06/2012 15:48

I'm distrubed by that.

A good chinese ruined. Tragic.

Was there lemon chicken?

What a weird thread! They are asleep-order what you like!

youarekidding · 05/06/2012 16:11

This thread has given me a good giggle.

It's only me and DS (7) and we have occasionally got a takeout (about twice a year!) - it's always chinese as it does both of us with leftovers for him the next day for under a tenner.

I pizza costs more than that.

Pizza we tend to buy a tesco value - then do half of it each with what we want from the fridge!!

misslinnet · 05/06/2012 17:12

It depends on what you want to eat, surely.

No-one's going to say 'Ooh, I really fancy a pizza - but the DC's are in bed. I don't really want to eat a Chinese / Indian takeaway, but as the DC's like pizza, we can't have pizza ourselves.'

LaFataTurchina · 05/06/2012 17:21

I think the mixing a little bit of what ever everyone has ordered is the best bit of getting an Indian or a Chinese! Why only have one thing when you can have a little bit of lots of different yummy things?

Trills · 05/06/2012 17:24

I don't think you understand LFata - it's not about everyone sharing and having a bit of everything on their own plate to mix as they pleased, everything was dumped into a big pile and mixed up.

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 05/06/2012 17:45

LaFat - yes, I agree that one wants to sample. But one wants to do it oneself and not have the dishes literally dumped on the plate and mixed up

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 05/06/2012 17:45

Ah, I see Trill already said it

thatisall · 05/06/2012 17:58

why do you way to know???? No seriously, you can ask all of Ma'amsnet anything you want and you choose this??

ps. I'll have a napoli please

RedHotPokers · 05/06/2012 17:58

Sometimes I eat chocolate when the DCs are in bed, and they LOVE chocolate .

We have pizza most Saturday nights with the DCs. The have tesco cheese feast, and think its the best thing ever! Until they realise otherwise I won't be wasting Dominos on them ordering pizza takeway.

Chinese/Indian are always to be enjoyed once DCs are in bed, preferably in large quantities...with plenty of beer Grin.

splashymcsplash · 05/06/2012 20:02

Erm.. I like pizza. Dd is only 20 months old and too young for salty takeaway pizza. Good enough?

lolajane2009 · 05/06/2012 20:05

we order and collect pizza after our son is in bed as he is 9 mths and i want him to have a better diet than us.
