to think it's uncommon for a couple to order pizza once dc are asleep?

If the dc are asleep and the parents wanted to order a takeaway, wouldn't Indian or Chinese etc be a more obvious choice than pizza (which is often eaten with the dcs anyway)?

Confused this thread is weird!

nymets · 05/06/2012 10:37

i don't like indian or chinese Grin

realhousewifeoffitzrovia · 05/06/2012 10:41

Okay. I think bad fake tan is better than no tan at all if your skin is - like mine - light blue.

I think left- handed people are superior (I am right- handed).

I think the English countryside is 10x more beautiful than the Canadian Rockies.

seeker · 05/06/2012 10:44

Bad fake tan is better than....nope, nothing at all.

I am righ handed and find left handedness fascinating- so I am with you a bit on that one.

The two are so different you can't compare.

er no... bad fake tan definately looks crap... and worse than nothing at all..

never been to the canadian rockies, so wouldnt know.. but I thought yosemite national park was more beautiful than dartmoor national park.. Grin

realhousewifeoffitzrovia · 05/06/2012 10:48

also I have to admit that I find people who don't drink at all a bit tiresome. also people who don't drink coffee.

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 05/06/2012 10:49

I agree with that Grin

I find anyone who says they never drink hot drinks to be a bit odd though..

BellaOfTheBalls · 05/06/2012 10:53

Bad fake tan is worse than nothing at all.

I also find people who don't drink hot drinks odd.

realhousewifeoffitzrovia · 05/06/2012 10:58

I feel that people on this thread are almost starting to find me tolerable but I am going to change the tide, I fear, by saying that I think it's as bonkers to change your last name to your husband's last name when you marry as it would be to change your first name to your husband's last name when you marry. I know this has been done to death on mumsnet but in the spirit of openness, I had to put it out there.
I feel this way whether the woman was left-handed or tanned.

pictish · 05/06/2012 10:58

I think ordering pizza at all is odd.
It's extortionate and it's bread and cheese with a smattering of toppings.
You get this slab of overpriced dough and lard to contend with, and try to digest.
I have never understood the passion people have for takeaway pizza. It's horrible.

Pizza Express pizzas are nice if you eat in.

Tannhauser · 05/06/2012 11:07

YABVU- I would never let my children eat takeaway pizza!

We sometimes ordered takeaway pizza for supper once children were in bed when we had a toddler and a newb... too shattered to cook, and I think that's fair enough.
Our bodies are already polluted, but my perfect children are unsullied. [pfb]

PineappleBed · 05/06/2012 11:10

Let me get this straight, your friend said casually "we had pizza after dc went to bed" and rather than saying "oh that's nice" you told them that most ppl wouldn't have pizza even though that is not something you could know and doesn't matter. You're one of those ppl who has to turn everything into an argument/chance for one-up-manship and can't say anything bland/nice unless ppl do precisely what you would do aren't you?

Doesn't life seem a bit short for always disagreeing with ppl?

Good on your friends for calling you on this tedious argumentative judgy behaviour.

PineappleBed · 05/06/2012 11:12

Pah ha ha ha ha!

Just read your name changing post, realised my previous post was bang on.

Would it be shorter for you to list the things you don't judge ppl for?

LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 11:12

I find people who don't use correct capitalization and spelling to be very tiresome and bonkers. Yes, even if 'special needs'. There are programs to help. Use them.

::waits for flaming::

There is no excuse for fake tan at all.

I have no opinion on 'handedness'.

I also don't care if you take your husband's name or not. I did. I wanted to. No one is making you do it.

Imnotbatman · 05/06/2012 11:14

I dont like Indian takeaway (or chinese for that matter)
Pizza and a movie is traditional

HeathRobinson · 05/06/2012 11:15

Psammead · 05/06/2012 11:15

I like you, Op Grin

Hulababy · 05/06/2012 11:16

Sorry OP; but I don't think it is unusual at all Hmm

DH and I sometimes have takeaway pizza even if DD isn't eating with us. Pizza is the only one that delivers much here anyway; DH isn't keen on Chinese takeaway and I am not keen on Indian as not able to do too much hot/spicy food. We like pizza anyway.

DD likes pizza too so sometimes we all have a takeaway pizza. Mind DD loves chinese and indian food just as much - she does far more spicy than I do.

realhousewifeoffitzrovia · 05/06/2012 11:18

Ladytee, you're so right regarding spelling/capitalisation. Needless to say, my pizza-loving friends are not the best spellers.

What if I think I'm being ironic on this thread and I really am annoying and tedious?

OP posts:
LadyTeeAndBiscuits · 05/06/2012 11:20

Well, first you need to learn the definition of irony. As you are not being ironic at all, so far as I can see.

wow some people take this site too seriously!

if the OP wants to 'muse' about something like pizza vs chinese takeaway then why not.

something different from 'how do you trim your bush'

OP, I can't stand pizza, I'd rather have a chinese takeaway because I feel like pizza is boring. DP however loves it and sometimes I have to concede.

We always have our takeaways when dd is in bed.

DailyMailSpy · 05/06/2012 11:27

We must be uncommon then! Yabu.
