Have now been tapped up by the Beeb, the Evening Standard and today Times 2 because of threads I have posted. This has been in about the last 18 months. Do they pm you too and ask for interviews or comments?

That's not fair

Icelollycraving · 30/05/2012 21:54

No. Are you controversial?

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 30/05/2012 21:54

nope :( I guess my threads are too boring!

marriedinwhite · 30/05/2012 21:54

No, I've been called exceptionally boring on here.

OP posts:
PissyDust · 30/05/2012 21:55

No, what the jeff are you posting about??

GreenEyesAndHam · 30/05/2012 21:56

Yes. The BBC, the Independent, oh and Fox News were particularly interested in my views on the 'how often do you change your top sheet' thread

RedBlanket · 30/05/2012 21:56

No.
I'm obviously spending too long in the shallow end, don't the beeb want my insightful analysis of slebs and eastenders?

Moln · 30/05/2012 21:57

I await the pms about my clothes peg posts!

The beeb were looking for a middle class family with a bob or three to participate in a documentary, the evening standard wanted to interview me about the impact of parking restrictions in Westminster, and today the Times wanted me to get in touch about an article relating to teenage mugging (DS got mugged about a month ago).

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 30/05/2012 21:59

Moln , I'm sure our clothes peg posts are very newsworthy

SwedishEdith · 30/05/2012 22:00

Is this a stealth boast? Never had teh oppotunity to say that before.

MsVestibule · 30/05/2012 22:01

Ah, Married, I've never thought of you as boring at all!!! (I'm sure you're most relieved by that.)

Perhaps the press think you're a "typical" MNer, i.e. affluent and London based? I know there's no such thing as the typical MNer, but perhaps the press haven't cottoned on to that yet.

usualsuspect · 30/05/2012 22:01

In fact I think the beeb should make a documentary about our clothes peg habits.

QuickLookBusy · 30/05/2012 22:01

Yes, I just ignored.

Hassled · 30/05/2012 22:01

No - never. Am way too dull.

A few years ago a widower who posted on MN (sadly, he's left) was PMd to take part in some article about single widowed Dads or something - I remember he was very upset that his personal story/feelings etc had been picked over by a journo. It's easy to forget this is all in the public domain - but this is absolutely not what the PM facility shoud be used for.

marriedinwhite · 30/05/2012 22:01

No, certainly not, I was just surprised to get another one today and wondered if they were doing it all the time. Just think journalists get paid for surfing mumsnet Grin

OP posts:
thatisall · 30/05/2012 22:03

never!! lol

usualsuspect · 30/05/2012 22:03

Did you report them? I thought it was frowned on by MNHQ

glenthebattleostrich · 30/05/2012 22:03

No but when a friend of mine worked for a local paper she used to ask us to comment so she could quote us in articles. Not lazy journalism as such but very unreasonable deadlines.

SandStorm · 30/05/2012 22:03

never been pm'd by anyone let alone the press.
