People who think they are oh so above Fb get on my tits tbh

hiddenhome · 25/05/2012 22:58

I'm not on FB Grin

ThePathanKhansWitch · 25/05/2012 23:00

Me. You are not alone.

mummylin2495 · 25/05/2012 23:02

i am not on facebook , i did look at it when i had my first request to be a friend, but had no idea what i was doing and then got fed up recieving all the emails from others wanting me to be their "friend"I am happy to just be on MN

EyesCrossedLegsAkimbo · 25/05/2012 23:02

Another problem with FB is arsey bastards who want you to go on FB so they can "friend" you. I get all sorts of shite about seeing their kids grow up, er I can see your kids when your nagging me about FB Confused and quite honestly if I don't "like" you in real life I'm not going to want you looking at my stuff.

LowFlyingBirds · 25/05/2012 23:05

Stands to reason, usualsuspect, you handpick your fb friends, mn is just a loose community you choose to participate in. Or not.

usualsuspect · 25/05/2012 23:06

If you don't like FB fair enough , no need to slag it off though

It doesn't make you a better person

Miggsie · 25/05/2012 23:07

I'm not on it, neither is DH, and he also doesn't even have a mobile phone.

What technical luddites we are!

ouryve · 25/05/2012 23:07

I'm not on facebook. Though I think you may have gathered that you're not alone by now.

usualsuspect · 25/05/2012 23:08

True LowFlyingBirds, I wish there was an ignore poster option on here though

LowFlyingBirds · 25/05/2012 23:08

Ha! Ive had that too.

My sister got all huffy that i got rid of fb, what about seeing her pics of the family, the kids etc??

I do want to see their pictures and hear what theyre up to but managed that just fine before fb with emails, phone calls...

Have a FB account only because without it I could not see pics of an event I had help organise. I rarely look at it. I don't care what people eat for supper or for the opinions of people I don't know and will never meet. If people I know can't be bothered to contact me in person then there is no point of thinking there's any kind of relationship. There's RL, there's FB. I appreciate that some people cannot go out and about and for them interaction online may be a lifeline. It is not for me but is clearly important for many. Any medium of communication can be used to spread scurrilous gossip etc newspapers so that's not restricted to FB

seasalt · 25/05/2012 23:53

LOL at Pascha Smile. I have never been on facebook.

echt · 26/05/2012 00:24

Not on Facebook. Never have been.

moosemama · 26/05/2012 00:31

I'm not on Facebook, mainly because I waste enough time every day on MN and so daren't sign up to anything else. Blush

In truth, it's also because I find it all a little bit confusing and I'm concerned I would get my security settings all wrong etc. I blame my age. I used to be pretty good at this technology lark, but seem to be getting worse at it the older I get. Blush

startail · 26/05/2012 00:34

yanbu

PrincessFiorimonde · 26/05/2012 00:47

I'm on Facebook because I have lots of family overseas and use it to share photos etc.

Having said that, I only look at the thing once every couple of weeks at most. I think I have about 20 Facebook 'friends'. Makes me chortle when I see that 'yoofs that I know' have approximately 925 'friends' each.

seeker · 26/05/2012 00:55

Do you also enjoy cooking over an open fire and cleaning your house with a damo cloth and a dustpan and brush?

ENormaSnob · 26/05/2012 01:04

I'm not on it.

Too many exes and not good from a professional point of view.

Sometimes wish I was though tbh.

AdoraBell · 26/05/2012 01:06

Me I don't use itGrin

anniewoo · 26/05/2012 01:08

Not on it either

ibizagirl · 26/05/2012 08:29

Me. Never used it and can't see the point to be honest. I seems daft to me.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/05/2012 08:46

at seeker

  • "do you enjoy cooking on an open fire" - er yeah... Got the kettle on top of a wood burner Grin

'clean with a damp cloth and sweep the floors' - yeah to that too, got pets and floorboards.

I don't have Facebook not because I'm sniffy about it - I don't have it because you can't keep it properly private. Mine was 'private' 4 years ago, people (students and clients) still found me. So now I don't have it - it's just easier

Laurie- me too. I couldn't think of suitably Luddite household tasks at that time of the morning!
