in thinking my town council are completely out of their tree?

At the beginning of the year the train station in the middle of town looked like this.

The town council thought it looked tired and needed a facelift. Fair enough. A few weeks ago I nearly hit a tree when I saw it now looked like this.

Eventually the shock wore off and it started to grow on me. But then the weird shit started appearing. Today it looks like this, or from the other side.

As you can see here, it blends in well. Confused

I'm thinking I need to stay away from the water.

I live in Sweden. Where everything is gentle shades of cream and beige and more cream and blending in is a national obsession.

before i clicked on the second pic i was thinking "i bet it's not that bad. it's not as if they'd paint it bright blue or anything" Grin

SchrodingersMew · 23/05/2012 00:12

tartyflette · 23/05/2012 00:29

CaliforniaLeaving · 23/05/2012 00:34

Shock pity they wern't in the tree you nearly hit. That is bloody awful.
The Chinese restaurant near us decided to update one year and painted the whole outside in Orange, it made the TV evening news, now the whole state saw it! It took them another year to tone it down. Now it's more peach and beige.

startail · 23/05/2012 00:38

I had a friend who's family had a shop that colour. She was very embarrassed always made it clear it was rented and they didn't paint it.

Eventually they did buy it and it was painted white!

MadamFolly · 23/05/2012 07:38

I'd have thought I was hallucinating if I saw that Shock

OhNoMyFanjo · 23/05/2012 07:41

Yanbu, that is a ridiculous colour especially on the last pic, it won't be hard to find though.

TheCunnyFunt · 23/05/2012 07:48

Now that is blue. what the fuck were they thinking?????

TheCunnyFunt · 23/05/2012 07:52

Oh that is a good point, it won't be hard to find.
"So where is the train station?"
"Oh it's on the high street, you won't miss it."
"Ok, but what does it look like? You know, just in case."
"Trust me, you will not miss it!"

"So did you find it ok?"
"Confused erm, yeah, but WTAF??????"
"I know."

Sparklingbrook · 23/05/2012 07:54

What's all that shit on the top?

TheUnMember · 23/05/2012 08:00

Apparantly it's art called 'Blue Orange' which is supposed to 'surprise, delight and shake' as well as making the station 'more more attractive and increase interest in traveling by train and bus'. Confused

Tee2072 · 23/05/2012 08:02

I think I would be terrified to take a train from that station...
