Absolutely fed up with the usual Saturday routine of housework, weekly shop, sorting out crap in the house....

After recently reading Shirley Conran, and in the spirit of her phrase "Life is too short to stuff a mushroom" I would like to say......

Life is too short to bloody well dust skirting boards!

To iron

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2012 11:50

ironing
sorting your paperwork anally

But...having had a huge sort out and tidy while DH is away, I also think life is too short not to get this done and then try to keep things tidy - something I am very bad at but trying to improve

Softlysoftly · 19/05/2012 11:50

Oops cross post but at least I'm not alone!

squeakytoy · 19/05/2012 11:50

life is too short to spend hours every day doing any sort of housework Grin

ImBetterThanYou · 19/05/2012 11:50

Go out and do something fun instead then do some housework tomorrow. I think life's too short for ironing every piece of clothing - I iron the essentials like school uniform.

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2012 11:51

yeah everlong - I find it so amusing that the sort of people (me included) who would never dream of dropping litter outside have cars that are like litter bins on wheels :o

YourFanjoIsNotAHandbag · 19/05/2012 11:51

Life is too short to clean the oven-pay someone to do it for you.

Life is too short to worry about the state of teenage ds1 bedroom-just close the door and walk past

ImBetterThanYou · 19/05/2012 11:51

X posted with 3 others complaining about ironing, haha at least I'm not the only one! :o

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2012 11:51

although DH doesn'tdrop litter and his car is tidy too
Not sure how he manages that

WhosTakingTheHorseToFrance · 19/05/2012 11:52

Life is too short to spend time picking out matching towels for the upstairs bathroom which no one sees and will only end up wet.

Rhinosaurus · 19/05/2012 11:53

can't do housework tomorrow, am planning to have a hangover!

MaureenMLove · 19/05/2012 11:55

I don't mind ironing in general, but ironing bed linen. Life is really too short for that!

brighthair · 19/05/2012 11:59

Slightly off topic. Life is too short for energy vampire people. I don't want to be surrounded by negativity
And ironing of course Grin

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 19/05/2012 12:00

anither cvote for ironing - the only time the iron has ben used in this house is for name tags on the DC clothes ( that s worth doing because life is too short to spend rooting thru the lost property box)
Life is also too short for what our blithering old fool of a neighbour does, sitting by his front window so he can come out and harangue anyone who park outside his house

valiumredhead · 19/05/2012 12:00

Iron!

SecretSquirrels · 19/05/2012 12:08

Ironing goes without saying.
Car cleaning in general. My car has moss growing on it. Inside it is just ugh, filthy. I never notice until I give someone a lift. It's just that I forget about it when I come in the house.

exoticfruits · 19/05/2012 12:20

Housework in general.

To clean under or behind furniture.

I only do it on three occasions:-

  • when I move house
  • when I get new furniture
  • if I have lost a small child
monkeymoma · 19/05/2012 12:25

Ironing again

seeingstars · 19/05/2012 12:25

worry about the small things and to iron unless really needed

gingerfrizz · 19/05/2012 12:25

Ironing, housework, telling the kids to tidy their rooms
