Absolutely fed up with the usual Saturday routine of housework, weekly shop, sorting out crap in the house....

After recently reading Shirley Conran, and in the spirit of her phrase "Life is too short to stuff a mushroom" I would like to say......

Life is too short to bloody well dust skirting boards!

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 19/05/2012 12:34

life is too short;

to iron definitely
to tidy up too often
to worry about, an estimated 80% of what people post in AIBU about (particularly offhand, trying to be nice comments made by old ladies, people at the bus stop, shop staff etc)

TheArmadillo · 19/05/2012 12:35

whinging, pessimism and generally being constantly miserable

Sometimes there are things worth complaining about but lifes too short to spend your whole time moaning - at least try to enjoy yourself.

And ironing obv (excluding work clothes and outfits for special occasions).

AllYoursBabooshka · 19/05/2012 12:36

Washing pots.

I'll never regret not washing enough pots.

Nubianqueen · 19/05/2012 12:41

Life is too short to worry about things I cannot control!!

Nubianqueen · 19/05/2012 12:42

Life is too short to worry about what others think about you. I for one don't care less.

Life is too short to...
Iron,
Worry about other peoples opinion of you,
Be miserable,
Worry about money, there's no pockets in a shroud and they can't take what you haven't got.

singingsoprano · 19/05/2012 15:44

Agree with StellaAnd Fries:)

Pandemoniaa · 19/05/2012 15:46

Life is too short for:

Ironing underpants and tea towels
Pagan politics,
Taking it too seriously.

tightwad · 19/05/2012 15:50

With this in mind, we bought a caravan Grin

Every weekend i would clean, do laundry, shopping and meal planning..every weekend.

Now we can just sling some good food into our caravan and naff off for the weekend, life is too short for humdrum week in week out rituals imho.

IDismyname · 19/05/2012 15:50

Life is too short to make lasagne.

By the time I've done the mince AND boiled the lasagne sheets, I'm thinking "What? I've got to make cheese sauce too??!"

Then you've got to assemble the blinking thing.

Whats wrong with spaghetti and mince and cheese grated on top, I ask? :o

diddl · 19/05/2012 15:53

Clothes shopping.

I loathe it.

IAmBooyhoo · 19/05/2012 15:56

scraping poo out of toddler pants, rinsing them, soaking them, rinsing them then washing them in the machine only to have a shitty smelling washing machine that makes all the rest of your clothes smell shitty for ages after.

just bin them. so much easier.

trixie123 · 19/05/2012 16:53

liveinazoo · 19/05/2012 17:36

PoppyWearer · 19/05/2012 17:39

Agree with ironing, cleaning the oven, cleaning the car, cleaning pooey toddler pants!

I would add cleaning and tidying the garage. FIL and DH are determined to do this over the summer. I couldn't care less.

ArthurandGeorge · 19/05/2012 17:39

Iron
Purree baby food
Try to achieve perfection...it isn't going to happen so why waste time and energy? Aim for a job well done, feel happy and satisfied Smile.
