Haha, realise I am probably going to get shot down in flames for being self-indulgent and attention seeking, but hope for a few answers also....

I build up a picture of MNets in my head from what they write, how they write and the subjects they post on. Sometimes I come across an opinion on a thread from a poster that really suprises me because Otto doesn't fit with the impression I had of that poster and so my poster persona evolves. I love eclectic 'odd' people in RL, so I really enjoy not being able to pigeon hole people

I have always been a bit fascinated by how other peoples interpretations of words and actions can be very different from the intention. And also how people can be very different depending what company they are in....

So, it occurred to me today, MN is a perfect opportunity to ask alias of people 'what do you think of me?' (if anything)!

My whole idea of what Nova Scotia is like, is based on a book I read which I can't tennero the name of-was it 'the shipping news'? Was that set in Nova Scotia?

OP posts:
ClassFree · 18/05/2012 00:32

It was set in Newfoundland. Also an amazing place! Thisright here is a quick eyeball of N.S. Smile

Morloth · 18/05/2012 00:42

When I was waiting tables I found any shoe where the heel is lower than the rest of the foot was great for easing aching feet.

It spreads the load more comfortably over the whole foot so the pressure isn't all pushing down into the heel. You can buy inserts that replicate it in normal shoes.

ClassFree · 18/05/2012 00:51

thanks Morloth, I will certainly try that!

HecateTrivia · 18/05/2012 06:52

fussbucket - see what I'm likely to say? Oh, you have to elaborate on that, please Grin

Megatron · 18/05/2012 07:18

I recognise your name OP. Worra is the poster who stands out for me as I usually find myself nodding and agreeing most of the time. Same with Chipping.

I will always remember you now op, cos you started this thread!

Guess thats quite nice for you eh? ;-)

nutellaontoast · 18/05/2012 10:07

Loads of names I recognise, none in a bad way. bejeezus based on this thread, I'd say you have a thick skin and a healthy sense of humour.

fuckingWARREN I remember well from the deleted thread about the night out, because it made it Shock Shock Shock at some of the vile attitudes out there posing as good sense and howdoyousay... properness? (can you tell I'm still Angry about that one?) and 'cos I thought she sounded like a good laugh.

Need more coffee.

MustControlFistOfDeath · 18/05/2012 10:13

I recognise your name OP - because I always say it in my head with an Irish accent whenever I see it.

I have no idea why I do this. I am not Irish. Confused Grin

I also have no idea why people cannot get keanu kanye west kayak kayano's name right Smile

confusedpixie · 18/05/2012 10:13

A name I recognise because it makes me smile a bit, but not one I particularily attach to any persona.

I recognise a handful of names on this thread actually, mainly because the names make me smile or laugh though! Freudian, Fliss, bibbity, Warren, Talc, Kayano, TSC, Worra, Jareth, Morloth, Hecate. But then I think the ones I've listed post in AIBU a lot which is why I recognise them?! There are a few others (not on the thread) who I recognise, there are two Boobs names, Chipping, Stranded and the other polar bear name, etc. I also find the banter between the regulars amusing (the waves and wine and so on)

I don't really keep an eye on the username when reading posts, maybe I should start so that I can get opinions of my own?! The only ones that have shocked me are when I realise that many posters are in their early twenties and I feel like they're much older mentally!

I do have opinions on the people on here I've met IRL though, all good thankfully!

confusedpixie · 18/05/2012 10:15

That first sentence was "OP your name is a name..." Blush

thebody · 18/05/2012 10:17

Lequeen has a clean house among other things so i I am jealous of her.

Worra always makes me laugh as her posts are so direct and no nonsense.

Think people post according to mood though as well as conviction. Sometimes u just go onto aibu for a bloody good scrap and it saves beating up the kids or dh.(well I do)

Mrsjay · 18/05/2012 10:21

I like you Bejeezus and usually in agreement with what you say I do form opinions in my head because i dont know anybody m

DeWe · 18/05/2012 10:21

I recognise your name but I don't really imagine people by their name.

Except perhaps Chaos after she posted 50 identical post saying something along the lines of "sorted now"...

Bearcrumble · 18/05/2012 10:23

Did Warren used to be someone else or is she new?

Hownoobrooncoo · 18/05/2012 10:23

I always pictured LeQueen to be a very curvy black woman with a lot of bling. Got a surprise when I looked at her profile.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/05/2012 10:23

OP, tbh not that many users stand out for me. Generally its the ones who post in an unusual way or say shocking things that I remember. By unusual way I mean posters like TalcandTurnip with emoticon posts or Hullygully.

I always think of a swearing irish priest when I read your name, although I don't think for a minute you actually are one.

MardyBra · 18/05/2012 10:23

People seem to think I'm mardy for some reason.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/05/2012 10:24

I wonder why mardybra? Puzzling that

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/05/2012 10:26

Hownoo - I have had a shock if I have looked at some profiles. Always looked with a reason i should add - like in response to posts saying look at photos of my dog/child/house. They have never looked how I imagine them.

Hownoobrooncoo · 18/05/2012 10:30

I don't understand people who show their lives on their profile. I like to be anonymous on here and name change regularly. Each to their own though and can be good for a nosey.

inmysparetime · 18/05/2012 10:30

I've not seen you about, but in my head (based on largely this thread) you're mid twenties, brown hair that you dye reddish, one child, work in an office. Probably way off the reality, but not much to go on.

Hullygully · 18/05/2012 10:33

Do I know you?

MordecaiAndTheRigbys · 18/05/2012 10:39

*mord I don't think I can be validated by people I don't know, can i??? Is that possible?

I wouldnt have thought so....but then this thread was started!!Grin
