To say that I think Kate Middleton looks like she has an eating disorder?

Umm skinny's not the word. Possibly and probably a size zero? Not natural/down to fast metabolism either as she used to be 'bigger'. That waist is thinner than my thigh by a long shot. Even DH said about it this morning and he's generally not interested in that sort of thing.

Don't understand why it hasn't even been mentioned in the press? I'm confident that any other celeb/person in the public eye would be questioned/accused of being anorexic.

I wonder what her BMI is? I would suggest dangerously low, NOT a good example IMO. However, gorgeous teal dress :)

Aitch... Not from what I saw of the 'fashion show'. Either way, it's normal for women to lose weight/gain it/stay the same, and they should be able to do that without comments from others.

MmeLindor. · 12/05/2012 12:44

Yes, she has lost weight since Uni but equating that with an eating disorder is daft.

I don't know, Aitch. I have this quaint idea that women should support each other, particularly when the other woman hasn't done anything wrong, other than be photographed by the press.

She is under weight but that doesn't mean she has an eating disorder. Many people have unhealthy problems with being under weight but there isn't a stigma about it, Or even a name like obesity. People say anorexia but that's a mental illness so it's wrong say every under weight person has it.

Some people are stupidly fat and some are stupidly skinny. Both are bad for your health.

I do think it's unfair that over weight people seem to be fair game.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/05/2012 12:46

So are underweight people, it would seem. Sauce for the goose and all that...?

MmeLindor. · 12/05/2012 12:47

FFS Angeltulips

You cannot make accusations like that, what a load of tripe

RowanMumsnet · 12/05/2012 12:49

Afternoon everyone,

We're all for a bit of idle gossip and speculation, but it might be good to remind ourselves that these are real people we're talking about here, no?

Peace and love

Just reporting what Ive heard - from a VERY well connected source! Mumsnet too tame for this sort of stuff I suppose.

AvengerFan · 12/05/2012 12:51

Well she looks one of the most genuinely happiest people I have seen in the press for a long time. Kate and William seem very happy together too.

Do I think she has an eating disorder, she looks like she is underweight for her height, and not getting in enough calories for the amount she is burning off. Anyone who doesn't eat enough fuel for the amount they burn off or eats too much and doesn't burn it off has an eating disorder. If she has an eating disorder, then that is something for her to address.

If someone has an eating disorder, then it is no one else's business, you asked for opinions so this is mine.

Kates under intake of calories looks like it has been going on her whole life if the pictures of her as a child are anything to go by, she was painfully thin looking in that picture of her in a brownie uniform as a little girl.

I have seen a similar incidence of Victoria Beckhams son, he is a very lean child as she was and still is, the other two boys are quite average sized and the middle one is very thin.

I would say Kate is fit, athletic no, she has defined muscles which are small as she is so lean, her muscles are no bigger than anyone else's would appear if they didn't have that 20% of fat covering their limbs that is considered healthy. Kate looks like she is underweight for her height, and will not be getting in enough calories for the amount she is burning off.

I also don't think Kate has a very femimine figure, she has very wide shoulders, and no hips, so instead of the desired hour glass she has a male inverted triangle figure.

I do like Kate, she seems a jolly lady, a perfectionist, well meaning, she presents herself very well both in behaviour and in the way she dresses and I wish her well. Kate is a human being doing the best she can and I for one would not ask any more of her.

angeltulips · 12/05/2012 12:51

PS Pips has a lovely figure but now looks positively chunky standig next to Kate.

thewickedestsm · 12/05/2012 12:52

bettybat is spot on.

angeltulips · 12/05/2012 12:52

Also, I assume what I said about William in my original post is allowed - he looks terrible! what happened to him? He used to be so sparkly and handsome.

if your source was that in they wouldn't be spreading gossip like that because they would know that they wouldn't be in for much longer carrying on like that!

it's like printing "friends" say ...
bollocks! a licence to make things up!

monkeymoma · 12/05/2012 12:55

william's job looks pretty high pressure to me, maybe THAT happened to him?

RowanMumsnet · 12/05/2012 12:55

Sorry for deletions but would you mind awfully not repeating what the initial deleted post said? (Just to save my fingers)

Psammead · 12/05/2012 12:55

I'm with you, GetOrf. Not for a billion pounds.

yeah well i don't get that 'we should all support each other' stuff either... just because we're all girls? i'd rather take things on a case by case basis, thanks, i've no commonality with a ghastly woman just because we have ovaries.

i think what i personally said about Kate Middleton was reasonable and constructive and not in the slightest bit unsisterly.

MmeLindor. · 12/05/2012 12:56

Angel
I imagine that, given the current libel laws, there are few websites in UK that would allow your unfounded and hysterical post to stand.

Get0rfMoiLand · 12/05/2012 12:57

OK sorry rowan - x posted with the earlier deletions.

Am I allowed to say that some posters on here are complete fantasist wankstains instead?

Trills · 12/05/2012 12:58

I agree Aitch.

"The sisterhood" is a strange concept to me. Why should I be more supportive or more likely to agree with someone just because we both have two X chromosomes. Does this mean I should be less supportive of someone if they are XY?

We should be nice to people or supportive of people because they are people, not particularly because they are women.
