DC have been moaning and squabbling and fighting all day. The house is a hole. There is rubbish everywhere - craft debris, random twigs, leaves, owl feathers Hmm DH is off in a field somewhere doing wilderness survivial DD has been annoying the DS's, DS1 copies everything she does, which is driving me MAD, and DS2 is so clingy I haven't been able to leave his sight all day. They are finally asleep.

There isn't anything in the house for us to eat tomorrow. It's next to impossible to go out with the DC and DH isn't coming back until goodness knows when. WIBU to pop out for a few minutes to get food?

How old are they and how much mayhem could they cause if they woke up and you were delayed?

wishiwasonholiday · 07/05/2012 20:34

Online shop to be delivered first thing tomorrow?

discobeads · 07/05/2012 20:35

How old are the DC? could you ask a neighbour to sit in the house for half an hour? Could you book an online shop for tomorrow? Do you have mlk delivered? Because you csn book other stuff to come at the same time as your milk?

I'd explore those options first...

Errm, NO! Not unless they are 12+ and would have the sense to call your mobile if they woke up and couldn't find you.

AkhalTeke · 07/05/2012 20:38

I'd like to say, that, as a mother of triplets you can never be unreasonable and may do as you Damn Well Like Grin

But it probably depends on ages of triplets and stuff. Boo.

Owl feathers, though! Am jealous, I have nothing so interesting messing up my house.

AKMD · 07/05/2012 20:38

They're 3-ish. They're little houdinis and if they woke up I'd probably find them sitting in the garden or something equally ridiculous.

I wouldn't. What if there was a fire, or you got hurt whilst out?
I know it's not likely, but I wouldn't risk it.
I have though asked neighbours to come and sit here for 10 mins when I've really needed something. Normally calpol.

PotteringAlong · 07/05/2012 20:40

Takeaway is your friend right now :)

lolajane2009 · 07/05/2012 20:40

yabu. i would only if they were 12+

PorkyandBess · 07/05/2012 20:40

3 ish? No, don't be daft.

AKMD · 07/05/2012 20:40

Online shop not an option I'm afraid. We're very rural and bottom of the list for internet connection. No neighbours or family close by.

Millie1 · 07/05/2012 20:41

Sorry, but there's no way I'd leave them - madness!

AKMD · 07/05/2012 20:41

I'm sure they'd be fine. A fox might get me though!

Surely you have known all day that there was no food in the house.. tell your husband to go out to the petrol station for cereal and a loaf of bread when he gets back, or ring him and leave a message.

If the shop is so close, ring a neighbour and ask them to go for you as a favour.

PestoPenguin · 07/05/2012 20:41

YABU, sorry Sad

lolajane2009 · 07/05/2012 20:42

get your hubby to bring it home with him

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 07/05/2012 20:42

If you live opposite the shop then YANBU

I wouldn't leave them if I couldn't see the house and get back in 30 seconds

FuckTheFuckOff · 07/05/2012 20:42

Do you live near a shop that is open? I ask because you said you'd only be a few mins, I'm rural and my local shop is closed an nearest garage is a 5 min drive away

squeakytoy · 07/05/2012 20:42

If you are so rural, how can the shop be only a minute or two away... yet no neighbours. That just doesnt make sense.

GravyHadALumpyMashBaby · 07/05/2012 20:42

No sorry. Absolutely not.

debka · 07/05/2012 20:43

How far is the shop and how long would you be gone for?

Gumby · 07/05/2012 20:43
