Triplets are asleep. WIBU to go out to get food?

DC have been moaning and squabbling and fighting all day. The house is a hole. There is rubbish everywhere - craft debris, random twigs, leaves, owl feathers Hmm DH is off in a field somewhere doing wilderness survivial DD has been annoying the DS's, DS1 copies everything she does, which is driving me MAD, and DS2 is so clingy I haven't been able to leave his sight all day. They are finally asleep.

There isn't anything in the house for us to eat tomorrow. It's next to impossible to go out with the DC and DH isn't coming back until goodness knows when. WIBU to pop out for a few minutes to get food?

Thankyou MadameChinLegs DH is a bit of a lone ranger though. He can catch his own mouse.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have complained about the lack of intenet connection while posting on MN. Well done to FtheFFoff for spotting that...

I'm not sure who got it first but I was intrigued by the cats!

Tsk. They are so not triplets, are they? Get your facts right!

TidyDancer · 07/05/2012 21:06

Yes, Haberdashery, that was so the flaw in the story. Grin

AKMD · 07/05/2012 21:07

I thought they would have to be triplets and Bill is just the runt of the bunch?

Sarah is the bossy one, Percy is a bit dim and Bill is adorable/irritating.

PestoPenguin · 07/05/2012 21:18

I was the first one to name the babies

The cats thing just confused me Hmm

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/05/2012 21:25

Very rural? My mum lives at the arse end of nowhere and has a broadband connection.

TartyMcFarty · 07/05/2012 21:32

Oops!

Taffeta · 07/05/2012 21:35

Bill. Its always Bill that makes me cry, sitting on an old bit of ivy Sad

MrsJamin · 07/05/2012 21:40

"I want my mummy!"
Although if it was DS2 it would be "duddle!!!"

Northernlurker · 07/05/2012 21:44

I had a joke thread once using Mog and the baby. T'was quite funny (I thought)

hurricanewyn · 07/05/2012 21:52

I love the owl babies. I'm Irish and changed Mummy to Mammy and it just reminded me of all the voices/accents I heard growing up.

Bill was far too whiny though!

rainyspells · 07/05/2012 21:59

Jeezo, some folk have far too much time on their hands. Erm.....cracking joke......(phew just as well you are a Mumsnet regular or the claws would have been out eh), love this cliquey public forum, so welcoming an all that.

Surprising to see MNHQ find it just as funny though..........suggestion - start a separate 'Really hilarious wind up's' section for the fantastically revered Mumsnet regulars.

MadameChinLegs · 07/05/2012 22:01

Might want to change your username to rainonyourparade

AKMD · 07/05/2012 22:19

Sorry rainy, I realise it was quite childish but it didn't take too long for people to catch on.

The claws did come out if you have a scan through some of the posts about the internet connection and pre-chewed weaning (?!) but I'm on here enough for people to think I'm some sort of special-treatment regular then I definitely need to get a life... :o

YABU. would be crazy to leave one young child alone in the house while you pop out for food let alone 3. Sorry.

iamhereagain · 08/05/2012 00:49

Hey I also have triplets they are nearly seven but there is NO WAY I would go out shopping and leave them :/ I get the stress but come on man no way lol

winniethepug · 08/05/2012 02:07

I knew a girl in London who used to put her 3 month old DD to sleep, call her home phone with her mobile and answer it (so she could hear what was going on if you know what I mean) and then drive down to Tesco, Post Office etc - often she'd be gone for up to an hour. None of the other NCT group girls could comprehend doing this but nothing untoward ever happened....I used to feel guilty taking the dog across the road to wee at 11pm (only gone 5 mins and 20 metres away from the apartment).
