No one should wear denim jackets but a 40+ women wearing one is just so wrong!

And on tv!

If your cold put a cardigan on

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 30/04/2012 12:27

A leopard print wrap dress over black skinny jeans, black flip flops and a needlecord denim style jacket. Great big sari scarf and sunnies

HillyWallaby · 30/04/2012 12:27

I think it entirely depends on what style of denim jacket, and how she puts it together with other things, and what her sense of style is like generally. It could look vile or fabulous. It just depends.

CreamolaFoamless · 30/04/2012 12:28

trainers are fine , just not denim jackets

Hoew I wish I had Mary Portas' number right now

sugarice · 30/04/2012 12:34

I love my 12 year old Miss Sixty denim jacket and in my opinion I still look good in it but I don't wear double denim, that's my big no-no. By the way I'm 43 and wear skinny jeans still, am I a slapper for that? Grin

thebody · 30/04/2012 12:36

CreamolaFoamless · 30/04/2012 12:39

Rindercella · 30/04/2012 12:53

YonWhaleFish · 30/04/2012 12:53

YABU. Folk can wear whatever they like. I fully intend to wear whatever I like until I shuffle off my mortal coil.

Kladdkaka · 30/04/2012 12:54

Klad here are my rules

Where what the fuck you want and fuck what anyone else thinks.

I think I might be able to manage that one. Thanks very much.

badtasteflump · 30/04/2012 13:04

YABU. Denim is my jacket of choice when wearing flowery skirts/dresses in the summer - stops the whole look being too twee IMO.

So bugger off Smile

badtasteflump · 30/04/2012 13:05

PS I also have a denim micro mini. Which I wear in public with leggings, and in the garden without - so there.

MinnieBar · 30/04/2012 13:08

MrsDeVere I am Shock Shock Shock, frankly....

... that you are somewhere where you can wear flip-flops atm. Where is this non-waterlogged, not-blowing-a-gale land??

TheRhubarb · 30/04/2012 13:08

What do you care what anyone else wears?
At least if you wear something shit no-one starts a Mumsnet discussion about it.

YABU ..womwn ovwr 40 can still wear denim jackets...

to the OP ... guess what some women over 40 can still wear mini skirts...look at tina turner..she has fab legs

OrmIrian · 30/04/2012 13:13

Really?

What happens when I am over 50? Is it OK again then? Or perhaps I will be too old for it to matter - I do hope so.

badtasteflump · 30/04/2012 13:14

Personally I've only recently started feeling confident enough about myself to start wearing mini skirts - despite having always had good legs In my 20's & early thirties I was way too worried about drawing attention to myself (and my legs Smile)

Now I don't give a chuff Smile
