to think Morrison's is the Home of Scumminess?

There is a Morrison's on my way home from work, so I swing by to pick up essential cheapo petrol etc.

Last week, the woman behind me in the queue had:
-multipack of WKD Blue
-multipack of Red Stripe
-Tena Lady pads

  • cigarettes
-cough syrup And she was debating with her DP whether or not the syrup also contained alcohol.

Last night, I went in to pick up some juice, and the man standing by the display picked one up, opened it, drank from it, said 'Ahh that's better', winked at me, and continued shopping Shock

Plus every second person is missing at least three teeth. But it is cheap....

MrsJ - it was more the fact that she was trying to work out if she was purchasing alcohol in the CS as well. Look honestly, it's just a light-hearted thread......

Eccles Plymstock one actually. And you will find many revolting peasants in there, but I stand out....

Try Asda in MK for size - the cashier asked me what my lentils were.

liveinazoo · 19/04/2012 18:10

i shop morrisons

Mrsjay · 19/04/2012 18:10

I dont think its coming across as light hearted just snooty ,maybe my PMT is affecting my humour as i am a bit crabby today , perhaps she didnt want the cough medicine to affect who ever had it maybe the blue wicked was for somebody else ,

taking my PMT head away Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 19/04/2012 18:11

fluff had that in a Co-op in Oxfordshire once with tofu.

Actually I imagine everyone else in Morrison's thinks I am the one lowering the tone, as I always swing by after the gym still smelling like a sewage plant

Your area perhaps?

I shop at Morrisons (we have lovely store with customers to match Wink)

RevoltingPeasant · 19/04/2012 18:12

maybe the blue wicked was for somebody else

Her toddler? Sorreeeeeee Grin I am honestly not a total cow. Really. No, really!

Are Tena Lady pads scummy? Confused

Voidka · 19/04/2012 18:12

I used to work in Morrisons.
Its lovely.

ScrambledSmegs · 19/04/2012 18:12

Admittedly my local Morrisons is pretty scary. Every time I go in there it seems there's a fight going on somewhere in store. It's definitely the area I live in as PIL live near one which always seems to be full of vair naice pensioners. The aisles ring with cries of 'After you' ' No, after you '.

Ooh, waddaya know. YABU!

NarkedPuffin · 19/04/2012 18:14

Ah. Your problem would be Leeds. Not Morrisons.

squoosh · 19/04/2012 18:14

Aw I like my Morrisons. They sell Galangal. Even Waitrose don't have that.

DogEared · 19/04/2012 18:16

Yes OP, you're right. Female incontinence is just horrid Hmm

NoraHelmer · 19/04/2012 18:16

I'm not scummy and nor is our local Morrisons :). And nor is our local Asda. They are both lovely. I tend not to shop in Morrisons regularly any more since Asda came to our town but I'd still go there for a change.

MissKeithLemon · 19/04/2012 18:33

NarkedPuffin - care to take this outside the store Wink

TheSinglePringle · 19/04/2012 18:43

There's nothing wrong with Leeds

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 19/04/2012 18:45

OP, Are you sure you were not in Lidl or Netto?

carabos · 19/04/2012 18:46

I'm halfway between two big Morrisons and don't usually shop at either. However, one of them is vair posh and the other - well, the last time I went there, the security guard at the door told me to look out for my handbag Grin.

GavisconJunkie · 19/04/2012 18:51

Ive not read the whole thread, but has anyone mentioned the possible connection between the cough syrup & tena lady :o

YABU & snooty

SarahStratton · 19/04/2012 18:54

It must be the area, where I am Morrisons is lovely, it's my choice of supermarket second to beloved Waitrose.

Actually, I prefer it, the quality is good and they stock way more lines.

ButteryBiscuitBase · 19/04/2012 18:55

I drink blue wkd and dp drinks red stripe we give dd cough syrup and at some point I may need a tena lady... Thank god I don't smoke or that would make me a scumbag.

The thrifty juice drinker sounds like my kind of geezer!

storminabuttercup · 19/04/2012 19:14

What's with the Leeds bashing? I thought the op said plymouth.

Are there lots of men in uniform shopping in the Plymouth one? Grin

storminabuttercup · 19/04/2012 19:14

And I don't mean morrisons uniforms Wink

Thing3 · 19/04/2012 19:15

I quite like the Plymstock Morrisons and on a week night I can feed the family for £6.50 in the cafe Grin

I have never noticed there are so many people without teeth but then I don't really pay any attention to other people.

kerala · 19/04/2012 19:15

In Bath its less scummy more geriatric. Which is fine by me. I seem to spend at least £30 less than I do at Sainsburys for a similar shop.
