Is anyone else listening to Tina Nash interview? Her partner gouged out both of her eyes and she is now blind. She had suffered years of abuse and stuck by him after each occasion. She has children she will never see again and she said, he went too far this time'

Aibu to really really hope this man goes to jail for life and that it means life and why why why did she stay with this bastard for so long.

The lady is articulate and heart breakingly measured.

I teach PSHE to 15 and 16 year olds. The number of girls that think controlling and even violent relationships are a sign of 'how much he cares' is scary. As are the number of boys who think a 'little slap' is nothing.

I know that in my school we spend a whole PSHE unit looking at healthy relationships and safe choices and a lot of that time is looking at 'red flags' early on in relationships. I've had girls in tears after lessons and luckily for us our school has a great health project with inhouse counsellors and nurses to refer these girls to. I've also had one horrified boy come to see me after a lesson because he recognised that he was emotionally abusing his girlfriend and wanted help to stop.

PSHE is not my main subject, but it is the most important one I teach in many ways. It is a pity there isn't more time and funding.

I know this is an old thread but he's being released, a man who actually gouged a woman's eyes is being released. I'm horrified. I watched an interview this morning with Tina Nash and it really upset me, she says because she is blind she won't even be able to look out for him - he has an exclusion order around her, but as she says, he's not really a follower of rules. She's terrified. He also beat someone up prior to attacking Tina and caused him brain damage .. not many things shock me, but this has played on my mind all day.
