outside the registry office on the day of the wedding and if so what should we offer them as an incentive to be a witness? Not planning on having any guests.

I'll do it if it's in Leeds!

EmpireBiscuit · 11/04/2012 16:49

I can cover west of Scotland...

SparkyMcSparrow · 11/04/2012 16:50

I think you need to tell us where you are OP! Grin

BillBrysonsRucksack · 11/04/2012 16:50

OlaRapaceFru · 11/04/2012 16:51

MooMa42o · 11/04/2012 16:51

Devon here, happily do it!! Though curious as to why no guests, i am just too nosy! :)

Frontpaw · 11/04/2012 16:52

London here!

elinorbellowed · 11/04/2012 16:52

We've considered this, so I'd be interested to see how it goes. You'll definitely find someone, give them a bottle of wine as a thank-you.

OlaRapaceFru · 11/04/2012 16:53

Oh - and if it's in London, I'll do it as long as you can offer a couple of glasses of Wine

PurplePidjin · 11/04/2012 16:54

West Hants/east Dorset signing in Grin

PurplePidjin · 11/04/2012 16:55

And congratulations Thanks

tomverlaine · 11/04/2012 16:55

My mum did this- her and my now stepfather just grabbed a couple of people from starbucks

WaitingForMe · 11/04/2012 16:55

We had our plasterer and decorator. I asked them the day before Grin

They jumped at the chance and insisted on changing into suits (then changing back to carry on working).

teahouse · 11/04/2012 16:56

Another one for Hammpshire - can bring son or friend
Congrats

DawnOfTheDee · 11/04/2012 16:56

I don't mind bringing my own wine if that helps doesn't get out much

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 11/04/2012 16:57

I would loveto have someone stop me on the street and ask me to be a wedding witness, it would be one of my little dreams come true!

YANBU!

SoupDreggon · 11/04/2012 16:58

As others have said, post the time, date and location on MN and you are guaranteed more witnesses than you could possibly need. It's been done more than once :)

jenfraggle · 11/04/2012 17:00

snozzle I'm guessing your name is derived from where you are, if so then I'm in one of the villages nearby :)

TheThingUpstairs · 11/04/2012 17:00

I would love it if I was asked to do this.

angelpantser · 11/04/2012 17:01

Northamptonshire volunteer signing in. Grin

Hulababy · 11/04/2012 17:02

I am sure you'd find witnesses. If not I am sure there would be other staff in the register office able to step in anyway.

I would do it if asked, if I didn't have something I had to do. But it'd be pretty cool to be asked.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/04/2012 17:05

West Sussex here if you need me :D

Astr0naut · 11/04/2012 17:07

Chester/Wales border - and on mat leave, so available. Grin

Seabright · 11/04/2012 17:08

Let it be Surrey, please! I'd love to do it!

oohlordylordy · 11/04/2012 17:09

I can SOOO understand not having any guests. We didn't have any at our wedding. WEnt to Vegas and rented a couple of witnesses.

Was excellent!!! Grin
