Is this a normal request? And why do they care? Confused

I'll do it if it makes them really happy though Smile

?

Honeydragon · 18/03/2012 08:38

Confused has someone complained about it?

Thankgodforcaffeine · 18/03/2012 08:38

Sorry, what? Confused

JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 08:39

Quite like my name, I love jam roly poly and jam rag because I'm alway getting my damned period and been ttc for nearly 2 years

ilikecandyandrunning · 18/03/2012 08:39

Lol! Your name is funeeeeee! I don't see the problem? As long as it is not racist, homophobic, etc, what's the problem? HQ needs to calm down!

JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 08:39

I'm as baffled as you both!

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 18/03/2012 08:42

FWIW I think there are worse names on MN but I find the phrase "jam rag" a bit yuk - too reminiscent of puerile teenage boys bullying girls who were on their period for me to find it amusing I'm afraid.

Pagwatch · 18/03/2012 08:42

I think it is pretty vomitty but I don't really care.

BelinaTheChicken · 18/03/2012 08:42

That's weird, can't see anything wrong with your name, and there are definitely more offensive names that haven't been changed. Bizarre

MissPenteuth · 18/03/2012 08:42

I doubt MNHQ would ask you to change it unless there have been complaints. And I don't think they can force you to change it if you don't want to; AnyFucker will testify to that Grin

Thankgodforcaffeine · 18/03/2012 08:43

MNHQ please explain?

JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 08:45

There were complaints of my 'troll hunting' as I was a little blunt to a rape apologist on another thread and was standing up for the op. then they dropped in at the end about changing my name.

I know it's not a 'lovely' name and a bit gross. Maybe I'll make it just jamrolypoly? Any other ideas?

OP posts:
jasminerice · 18/03/2012 08:47

But your name clearly does work as you are posting here and now.

UnChartered · 18/03/2012 08:47

keep your name, unless you want a change?

i've just morphed into this one and trying it out on a few threads

AFuckingKnackeredWoman · 18/03/2012 08:48

I don't think itS bad. Are we coming out al netmums all of of a sudden?
We will all have to have cheery vom inducing nicknames.

JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 08:49

jasmine I don't think they meant in a technical way

OP posts:
JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 08:51

But I'm rubbish at thinking up names unchartered Sad

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 18/03/2012 08:52

I would inane that they have had a couple of posts saying people don't like it. They can't/won't/ don't want to tell you to change it, so have let you know that it isn't universally loved in order to let you consider that.

I suspect they were trying to be discreet and diplomatic but that moment has passed and they are now being asked to explain themselves.

You should do as you chose. Like SarahBellum it reminds me of thick and vulgar teenagers but others clearly find it funny. So do what you like.

Pagwatch · 18/03/2012 08:53

Imagine. Not inane. Although that is possibly up for debate. Grin

Melusina · 18/03/2012 08:53

to be fair, I think MNHQ should be given a bit of a break especially in light of all the shit they are having to contend with at the minute.

OP, your name doesn't offend me.

MrsKittyFane · 18/03/2012 08:54

Go for jamrolypoly. Jamragrolypoly makes me feel sick.

Proudnscary · 18/03/2012 09:01

I don't like your name if I'm honest.

JamRagRolyPoly · 18/03/2012 09:04

I don't like lots of names on here but wouldn't complain or ask anyone to change it. But I will change it completely this afternoon

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 18/03/2012 09:08

Neither would I. But people do. But really, do what you like. People are only commenting on your name because you started a thread about it.
If you want to keep it, keep it.

seeker · 18/03/2012 09:10

Well, if you want to sound like a teenage boy then using the term jam rag is perfect.
