AIBU to have an unfathomable dislike for Frank Skinner?

Just seen his face on bbciplayer being interviewed by Mark lawson. When did this skinny smug poo smear become a national treasure or whatever? And don't even l,et me remember the days when he hung out with the Baddiel thing and it was like a version of those boys at school who were nasty little sneering sods, sat in the corner being vile.
sorry. just don't like the man. will not watch room 101 because of him. what was wrong with Paul Merton, now he is nice.

This made me laugh: I saw FS at a Q and A session a few months ago and hes said at a previous session a woman had said that she used to hate him but she loves him, had he changed or had she?

That is EXACTLY how I feel about him. I used to think he was a smug laddish arse but now I find him witty and quite sensitive. I am going to do the decent thing and shoot myself in the head after saying this, but....

Perhaps it's an age thing

Because I think he's fab. haven't read his autobiography... but I suspect there was probably a certain degree of irony/humour in it.

You know what they say: if you take a violent dislike to someone it says much more about you than about them..

Is Frank lumped in with a lot of the "new lad" stuff in the mid 90s? Because I can't see that he had much to do with that.

i used to like newman and baddiel, i think it was, then skinner must have bumped off newman - to become skinner and baddiel, i coudlnt fathom it out

I liked him until I read his autobiography. It seems he was a bit of a bully and a sexual weirdo. I know you shouldn't hold someone's teenage years against them but, well, some qualities are just ingrained aren't they?

Why did he and Newman fall out?
I liked him until I saw him ribbing an innocent member of the audience on his show opinionated, he mocked him way past embarrassing him, it was painful viewing. I think it's a bit of good old fashioned out-of-touch, nouveau riche snobbery at play.
The guy he took the piss out of reminded me of my lovely dad I can't stand it when comedians use easy targets for cheap laughs.
Also when he talks about sex it makes me cringe nobody wants to hear him talk about sex. Give me an actually sexy comedian any day (Russell brand) Grin

I find Russell Brand annoying and not funny at all. And I don't recall Frank Skinner using his radio show to harass the granfather of one of his sexual "conquests".

I haven't read his autobio but my OH has and he showed me bits of it, including the bit about his losing his virginity to a middle-aged prostitute.

I like him because he seems honest, unlike most comedians nowadays who just spout PC bullshit that gets them easy laughs. Plus he comes from a relatively humble background, at a time when most comedians are privately educated and from wealthy families.

I do hate that woman he has on his radio show sometimes with the annoying laugh. Can't remember her name. Not Emily, another woman who is on sometimes.
