In the dry cleaners this morning. Perfectly pleasant young man serving - he was polite and everything. His t-shirt said "Doggy style. The bitches love me". Why is this ok? It isn't ok. I'm pissed off.

It's not OK. It would offend me and mark out the person wearing it as a complete tool.
Completely inappropriate to wear something like that when dealing with the public.

TheAvocado · 25/02/2012 22:21

rockinastocking that's actually funny though :o

hackmum · 25/02/2012 22:35

TeamEdward - there was a dad at my daughter's primary school who used to wear that t-shirt. His kid must have been about six. I couldn't believe it.

LookAtAllTheseFucksIGive · 25/02/2012 23:40

Anyone familiar with Afflecks Palace in Manchester? There is a stall that sells baby vests, t-shirts and dummies. I presume its still there (Its been a while) 'Fancy my Mum? She takes it up the bum!' 'I can tell you what its like inside' 'I saved their marriage/relationship' and 'Band Aid Baby'. I got the impression they were meant as a (sick) joke rather than actual babywear.

Cherriesarelovely · 25/02/2012 23:44

UGH! That is horrible. To wear it for work is ridiculous.

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 25/02/2012 23:55

Like a 6 year old knows what 'getting head' means! They will take it at face value (coin tossing) if they even bother to read it.

If your DD had been with her, surely you would have told her whatever you would have told her if someone in the supermarket was wearing that t-shirt.

If the owner had a problem with it, he could have sent him home/out to buy a new one or whatever. I imagine your letter will end up in file 13.

TheCraicDealer · 26/02/2012 00:01

It's reassuring to know that the only women these men will ever get are those can't can't read. Are they meant to a 'fun' conversation starter or something?!

cherrytopping · 26/02/2012 00:23

chippinginneedscoffee, thats my feels too.

You could be anywhere and see the same tshirt. Or one far worse. It was a dry cleaners, not a law firm. Perhaps not the best thought out tshirt for customer facing but hey ho... Don't think its a big deal.

verityverbiage · 26/02/2012 00:29

It's a t-shirt nothing to get worked up about.

GothAnneGeddes · 26/02/2012 00:34

Not OK. I would have been tempted to blow my nose on it.

Saddened as always by the appeasers on here who have no standards or spines. "Calling women bitches, oooh that's funnneee! Don't be uptight or the boys won't like you"

verityverbiage · 26/02/2012 00:39

I bet you wouldn't have GothAnneGeddes.

Thanks for insulting everyone though.

cherrytopping · 26/02/2012 00:44

Its not about it being funny or not. Its about the fact that I really can't be arsed getting worked up over an immature t-shirt that anyone could wear in the street.

I would hate for tshirts to be policed and a situation arise where you could be arrested for having an offensive t-shirt. Even if I don't like the t-shirt. Tbh the heart of this comes down to civil liberties and freedom of speech for me.

I don't particularly like what it says, but I don't think its worth getting my knickers in a twist over it either. Its not about appeasing it, its about seeing it in the context of a bigger picture and the consequences of trying to ban tshirts like that.

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/02/2012 00:49

Cherry - exactly that ^^

TheSinglePringle · 26/02/2012 01:35

When you have 2 brothers aged 20 and 18 t-shirts like these you see most days. So I don't find it offending or anything. I do find them quite funny as that's what they are. Funny slogans. I've bought my brother's them as gifts because I ha e found them funny. Doesn't mean I'm spineless.

TheSinglePringle · 26/02/2012 01:36

Have* stupid phone

verityverbiage · 26/02/2012 01:46

I find the t-shirts proclaiming "I'm a bitch" worn by little girls more offensive.

And the famous "Boys are stupid throw rocks at them" ones.

Never mind the bollocks t shirts were famously banned from sale in many towns.

k8tykins · 26/02/2012 02:10

Rockinastocking, i laughed out loud at that! Cannot believe someone would actually get up in the morning out that in and think, yeah that'll do! :)

k8tykins · 26/02/2012 02:11

Meant to be- put that on! Smart phone not so smart.

scottishmummy · 26/02/2012 02:28

ironic youff humour innit

GothAnneGeddes · 26/02/2012 02:48

Verity - Oh but I would. Also I didn't insult everyone, just the tedious appeasers throwing round accusations of being uptight.

Cherry - would you really be so concerned about "Civil liberties" if it was a racist t shirt?

Why is stopping racism OK (and rightly so), but combating sexism will somehow lead to the downfall of civilisation?

verityverbiage · 26/02/2012 02:52

Nah you wouldn't.

All this over a t shirt etc.

You are still uptight.

saladcreamwitheverything · 26/02/2012 02:58

Agree with Cherry.

Folk who have ishoooos with this have far too much time time on their hands

Grin
saladcreamwitheverything · 26/02/2012 03:01

singlepringle love the name!!

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 26/02/2012 03:15

I'm amazed people think it's acceptable for people to come to work in public-facing role wearing a T-shirt saying 'the bitches love me'. I'm a bigger prude than I thought!
