To think I am as invisible on MN as I am at home?

You know how it is, you speak.. no-one appears to hear, you clean, no-one cares, you cook, its yucky etc etc etc.
Well yes and I just accepted that as part of the motherhood deal, but thought MN was somewhere I might get noticed/ heard/ interacted with, but so many times I post and never get a thanks or even a WTF? I am beginning to feel like I am still at home............. anyone out there?

I've noticed you DOG but I mainly lurk so you won't know me.
Pag, how the hell do you pronounce the new name?

Sittinginthesun · 24/02/2012 19:28

I'm sure no one recognises me, even though I'm hear on and off quite a lot. It's because I have practically no sense of humour.

Funny thing is, this is one part of my life where I genuinely don't care whether I have made the right impression. It's quite therapeutic.

Oh, and if I do offer words of wisdom, I don't really want a reply. I spend my working hours officially helping people, so here, I just help if I can, but don't get upset if I'm ignored.

Pagwatch · 24/02/2012 19:29

Shortest campaign ever Springing.

Some of it is not name changing isn't it?
I remember posting to someone 'oh gosh, I didn't realise you had a dc with those issues too' and they replied along the lines of 'oi you gormless twit, it's me'
I am so crap at spotting name changers. A lot of the people I recognise just rarely name change either.

Honeydragon · 24/02/2012 19:29

If you want more interaction why not try out some quiches for size?
They aren't exclusive and are usually very welcoming - if they aren't you don't have to go back Smile

Honeydragon · 24/02/2012 19:31

I'm aware of you D0G

I thinks you vair funny at times

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/02/2012 19:36

I know what you mean. I sometimes feel a bit neglected. Think it is because I am a lurker and not a regular poster.

Mind you sometimes I say something so dull it is probably a good thing no one knows me.

ZenNudist · 24/02/2012 19:37

Well you aren't invisible on mn, you are in active convos / aibu at 7.30 on a Friday night - a high traffic time. That's good going, but if you want to keep it up you have to reply and get involved with people. Ive been mnetting for a few years, mostly with the same name, but I just post & run, can't really get into convos with people, you've gotta be quite on the ball with the comebacks. It's less easy when posting on your phone too. I guess it depends on what you want... it might be easier to become more visible at home than on mm - perhaps just saying your going on mum strike to spend all your time mnetting will get their attention! muddymooncups · 24/02/2012 19:41

Isn't it unmumsnetty to be nice. Grin

Oh well, you can have a Brew or Wine & Thanks.

will that do. Grin

Hi by the way.

nenevomito · 24/02/2012 19:41

Go to Unanswered Messages at the top and then go and answer some of them.

Tis what I always do when I can't find a thread to get my teeth into and you get to chat to a lot of new posters that way.

iCANdothisiCAN · 24/02/2012 19:49

I'm with you OP, I even killed the Mexican wave!

The one time I really needed it though good ol' MN came through! Had unbelievable amounts of support, from loads of people, especially some if the more "well known" posters.

Don't get anywhere on the more light-hearted ones but that's more due to the fact i'm not funny than anything else!

Keep going op, we see you Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 24/02/2012 19:53
