I saw a nice top whilst out today, and i do like it alot, but i would also want a white pair of jeans to go with them. I like the top a lot, but i am not sure about paying £35 for it. I am trying to save for rent in advance and a deposit, but it looks like the council will have to house me. I am going for a family meal on sunday as well and have nothing to wear.

Is £35 a stupid amount to spend on a top? And should i just get a different colour to avoid buying a new pair of jeans?

Think i really need someone to say, no buy it for yourself...but doubt you will. Talk me into/ out of it please. So undecided!

Hmm

white jeans + child = never out the washing machine

I saw some gorgeous beaded tops in a charity shop in Huddersfield and I was sorely tempted but they were dry clean, so I'm never going to bother taking them to the dry cleaners.

TwllBach · 22/02/2012 21:57

MN just gets weirder every day.

Thank you though, OP, for I have sniggered my way through this whole thing and snorted loudly at squeakytoy and "you only have one our of tits"

FWIW, I'm housed (private rent) and I work and I cant remember the last time I could afford to buy a £35 top. Possibly when I was 15/16 living with my mum, so get a grip. In a nice way.

storminabuttercup · 22/02/2012 21:57

Think I've clicked who op is, firstly stop naming people, secondly, I have a home (and a overdraft at it's limit) and thirty five quid on a top is too much. Thirty five quid is electric for a month!!!

I think a reality check is in order!

storminabuttercup · 22/02/2012 21:58

Oh and I only have three bras too, and wearing a bra twice is Nawt!

SarahStratton · 22/02/2012 21:59

I have a drawerful of bras.

storminabuttercup · 22/02/2012 22:00

Stratters, I have three bras that fit. My boobs have grown too big for the others cos I'm fatter than I was

SarahStratton · 22/02/2012 22:04

Chris Evans said on Radio 2 this morning (I think) that most women have 6 bras in their drawers they don't wear as they don't fit so you are all in good company.

TwllBach · 22/02/2012 22:06

I bet mine are bigger than all of yours and I only have one bra. AND it's so old that one strap has curled in on itself like cheese wire and there are holes in the band at the back. Beat that.

Tattoo removal and hankering after a necklace for Mothers Day are long / medium-term goals, yes.

As for your mother only washing things once a week, I would expect DD's P.E teacher to tear a strip off her if she used that excuse for not coming in with gym kit and she is only eleven.

ScaredyCate · 22/02/2012 22:08
Hmm
SarahStratton · 22/02/2012 22:09

No MaryZ, she uses saucepans.

storminabuttercup · 22/02/2012 22:09

Fuck

What is bbb then?

I've just been telling dp that I've been bra less today, I think it's comfort to let the puppies run free Grin

CreepyWeeBrackets · 22/02/2012 22:11

Free-range breasts. A delightful pastoral image. Gambolling in the fields...

SarahStratton · 22/02/2012 22:11

Pinky and Perky are never allowed to freerange.

Big, Black and Beautiful I think?

I feel like I am depriving them now. Am I a bad NorkMummy? I shall go for a walk in the filds and set them free.

TwllBach · 22/02/2012 22:15

Pan!

That was me scoffing at the thought of saucepans holding her tits

CremeEggThief · 22/02/2012 22:15

I haven't read through the whole thread, but if you're this broke, why are you still paying for the gym and going out for restaurant meals?
I agree £35 is a stupid amount to spend on a new top. If you must have one, go to the cheaper shops others have suggested.
I strongly advise you to have a look at the budgeting and credit crunch forums on here, as I think it may help you to sort out what is relevant and what is a luxury.
