I saw a nice top whilst out today, and i do like it alot, but i would also want a white pair of jeans to go with them. I like the top a lot, but i am not sure about paying £35 for it. I am trying to save for rent in advance and a deposit, but it looks like the council will have to house me. I am going for a family meal on sunday as well and have nothing to wear.

Is £35 a stupid amount to spend on a top? And should i just get a different colour to avoid buying a new pair of jeans?

Think i really need someone to say, no buy it for yourself...but doubt you will. Talk me into/ out of it please. So undecided!

a QUID is ahrdly going to bankrupt anyone! FGS, It wasnt like i went and spent a whole load on mothers day! If i had spent more okay have a go, but a god damned pound?? I have to wear my bras two or three times, cos i only have three comfy ones, i could have gone and spent a whole load on bras. I did buy a few essentials when i first came down, knicks for one, seeing as i only had three pairs, and i occasionally leak. And socks!

Anyway i am leaving this now. You have told me to not be so god damned stupid, so i wont. But i am going to go for a nice walk in the park on mothers day!

Don't buy top.
DON'T borrow money
Stay away from shops then you won't be tempted. If you seriously have nothing to wear go to Primark with cash and get some essentials.
And when you do have a roof over your head, go on freecycle. You can furnish an entire house for nothing.
Trust me on this ;)

squeakytoy I'm glad it's not just me. I was wondering how many bras one person needs as well.

NaughtyMrChicken · 22/02/2012 21:35
Hmm
CreepyWeeBrackets · 22/02/2012 21:36

I only have three comfy bras as well so I um, wash them. You could too. In a saucepan if you like.

"knicks for one, seeing as i only had three pairs, and i occasionally leak."

In that case, I'd definitely rule out the white jeans.

emsyj · 22/02/2012 21:40

I have two bras that fit me - must buy myself a 'little luxury' tomorrow as compensation for coping with this terrible situation for so long.

You say you feel guilty spending anything on yourself, OP - but I don't believe you.

Mum has 7, one for each day of the week, she only does her washing once a week! She has a big machine, from when my sister was still at home. And cos it was cheaper in the sale than the other one she was going to buy!

I came down with two, very u comfy bras. Which were two sizes too small, so felt like hell wearing them! Everyone i know seems to think i have more than i do. I am lucky i know, just see things i like.....and cant have. Makes me a little sad. I havent treated myself in years, before i wasnt eating sometimes cos we had no money. Stupid thoughts. Will avoid thinking them again. I mean i look at men and think oh i like him, but i dont get him do i?

I am only young, and been through a lot I wanted my tattoo removed, but havent had it done, because its not important right now. I will when i am on track, but not now.

Go to a charity shop. Looking at things you can't afford in shop windows makes you feel like shit. Believe me I know. I couldn't afford to spend that money on a top so I don't. I will go all out sometimes and spend a tenner on a dress from charity shop if it's a really good one, and be happy with that. You can't afford it, end of story. You have to try and accept that and convince yourself that one day, things might be better for you. I hope they will be, I really do. Good luck with saving for your deposit and well done for buying something for yourself for mother's day, if it made you happy and it was 99p, why not?

Who is the OP?

OP, you sound very young.

Read the boards. You'll learn some stuff. It's hard being a young mum & you sound like you've been through a hard time. {giving benefit of the doubt}

Well now you have lost so much weight at the gym, they should fit you perfectly.. Grin

I only have 3 bras. I never thought about it Confused

Stuff you can buy is not the way out of feeling like nothing is sorted out. It just isn't.
