To think the Welsh

have better resealable cheese packets than we do in England.

While in Wales this weekend I purchased some Welsh cheese (very nice it was too) and the resealable strip was like a little plastic velcro srtip not like our little thin strip that is hard to reseale

This is not a critisism of the Welsh just an observation but it does make me wonder what other little gadgets that make life easier do they have. Things like self squeezing tea bags

We have to pay for carrier bags

DrowninginDuplo · 21/02/2012 21:07

I was all ready to be riled and tell you to fuck of the the far side of fuck and then fuck off some more. :o

Superior resealable cheese packets quite took the wind out of my sails.

If it helps I've never noticed self squeezing tea bags nor come to think of it superior cheese packets...

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2012 21:08

But not for prescriptions Princess. Grin

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:10

Didn't you know the Welsh are known for our resealable cheese packets :o Wink

AmandinePoulain · 21/02/2012 21:10

Tell me where I can purchase these superior cheese packets please, I am tired of having to place my opened cheese in a little bag (not a carrier bag, now they cost 5p I have to justify my carrier bag uses to dh Grin)

McHappyPants2012 · 21/02/2012 21:11

Same as drowning lol.

We pay 5p for a carrier bags so we have decent cheese packets

BelleEnd · 21/02/2012 21:12

Me too Drowning :o

Yes, our cheese packets, castles and singers are rather wonderful

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2012 21:12

Are they the crappy carriers or do you get a decent one for 5p?

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:16

Crappy ones for 5p in my area, 6p to 30p for a decent one. =)
Always great when you get to england and try forget you don't have to pay so stock up while there :o

AmandinePoulain · 21/02/2012 21:16

Just big standard carrier bags and paper bags sparkling, the shops are encouraged to donate any profits to charity. The only exception is for loose food, in fact I had an interesting conversation in the cinema when they tried to charge me for my popcorn bag Hmm

McHappyPants2012 · 21/02/2012 21:16

Depends, as McDonalds, primark ect all do paper ones and they are 5p but also the massive iceland bags are 5p

AmandinePoulain · 21/02/2012 21:17

I do that midnight Grin

smoggii · 21/02/2012 21:17

The amount of carrier bags i've paid for since they introduced it has more than covered my prescriptions in the same time.

Or it would if the money went to the Welsh Government, idiots didn't do that properly did they!

deemented · 21/02/2012 21:17

they are cappy for 5p.

the decent bags for life cost anything from 9p - 15p.

and mcdonalds charge you 5p for a paper bag fo your burger, but if you get fries then theres no charge...

maddening · 21/02/2012 21:18

my dp is welsh and employs a tupperware for cheese storage - the welsh must really be into good cheese storage

Rogerbacon · 21/02/2012 21:19

AmandinePoulain · 21/02/2012 21:19

In my earlier post I meant bog standard, they aren't any bigger in Wales! Blush

SecretNutellaFix · 21/02/2012 21:19

5p is the minimum charge for a single use carrier bag. Some people have real issues about it and take it out on us at the tills.

Which cheese was it by the way?Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 21/02/2012 21:20

xpost. Cadog is lovely cheese. Their butter is nice as well.

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:20

Yay Ruthin is rather close to me.
Dh is now going for good cheese tomorrow

smoggii · 21/02/2012 21:20

Sainsbury's do a 5p bag for life...tesco don't...bastards

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2012 21:21

So is it best to take your Tupperware to McDs and get them to tip it in? Shock

deemented · 21/02/2012 21:22

Ooooohh... Welsh salted butter dripping off hot toast...

Rogerbacon · 21/02/2012 21:23

Midnightmoon

The sausages I got from the butchers near the toy shop where very nice too. They where called welsh sausages

The only downside to Wales was the bottled beer I got was not as nice as I would of liked

Cadog cheese is indeed very tasty, I don't remember velcro bags the last time I had some but that does sound like a good idea. Is cadog not available over the border then?
