To think the Welsh

have better resealable cheese packets than we do in England.

While in Wales this weekend I purchased some Welsh cheese (very nice it was too) and the resealable strip was like a little plastic velcro srtip not like our little thin strip that is hard to reseale

This is not a critisism of the Welsh just an observation but it does make me wonder what other little gadgets that make life easier do they have. Things like self squeezing tea bags

Freshlettice · 21/02/2012 21:26

Mmm Cadog. Good stuff. Not as good as Perl Wen though, but that doesn'tcome in sealy bags.

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:28

!!!!
It seems I need to go to Ruthin more.
Then we all may go Saturday for good cheese and good sausage.
But no beer, it's a done deal.

PrincessWellington · 21/02/2012 21:30

My council funnily enough give us free bags for our kitchen bins though Confused

ANTagony · 21/02/2012 21:31

Next time you find yourself near Rhuthun/ Ruthin in need of some cheese you could try llandyrnog creamery. You can buy it at souce in big blocks, butter too.

AmandinePoulain · 21/02/2012 21:32

I like Snowdonia cheese, but find the wax wrapping difficult to access. I have to stab it repeatedly with a sharp knife whilst getting more frustrated. It does keep for ages though and tastes luvverly Smile

DoingTheBestICan · 21/02/2012 21:34

I live not far from ruthun, you should come to mold for the farmer's market, they sell lovely food there.

cardibach · 21/02/2012 21:35

Perl Wen and Perl Las are my favourite cheeses ever, Freshlettice. It's made just up the road from me. No sealy bags, though, as you say.

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:36

We are going to have a fridge full of cheese now.
Dh is going to do his eye roll and eyebrow raise when I -make- suggest to him what we are doing Saturday

DoingTheBestICan · 21/02/2012 21:36

Yes I have to agree with the pp who said about the council tax re branding, and the fact that it hasn't gone up in England but ours has increased lots.

Rogerbacon · 21/02/2012 21:37

Come to mold and have a look round the market, there is a lovely new coffee shop opened by whsmith,he makes his own bread and had freshly made cakes on the counter to try,you can also buy home made bara brith

mumatron · 21/02/2012 21:44

ooh i love Cadog cheese

I'm a good girl and always take my reusable bags shopping so don't have to buy many 5p ones.

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:44

maddening · 21/02/2012 21:44

Midnightmoon · 21/02/2012 21:44

timetosmile · 21/02/2012 21:45

My parents from Wales have just been to visit us in England, and raided my stuffed stash of carriers under the stairs.

They made no disparaging comments about my cheese packaging though.

Come to think of it, not only did they take the carrier bags but Dad ate most of the pancakes too....

DoingTheBestICan · 21/02/2012 21:47

Absolutely,Ian the man who owns it is lovely,he used to be the chef in caffi Florence in loggerheads.
I live just outside mold,in between mold and Buckley,do you know it?

likelucklove · 21/02/2012 21:49

Mmmm cadog, Caerphilly and Collier's cheese are my fave's.... On a nice bit of freshly baked bread....

This is not good for a hormonal pregnant lady who would eat her weight in cheese pregnant or not

I get all annoyed when I get to the tills at the shops though and realize I have once again forgot my bags! Angry

Pandygirl · 21/02/2012 21:49

I buy "can't believe its not cheddar" with a velcro style top - it is better (I live in Yorkshire, but I am quarter welsh).

mumnotmachine · 21/02/2012 21:57

Cadog cheese is fab, as is Caerphilly
Mmmmm
Cheese...

mumnotmachine · 21/02/2012 21:59

Ohh and laverbread- lovely in small amounts!!

startail · 21/02/2012 22:16

Welsh cheese is lovely, I think I may once of had the packets of which you speak.
But please don't go on about Bara Brith or worst still Welsh cakes.
You are making me hungry. Used to have Welsh cakes as break time snack at school.
