I agree with the OP.
I can't understand why I feel so strongly about their pointlessness, but I do. I have always felt that it is up to the individual how they spend their own money, but I somehow feel that to spend potentially hundreds of pounds on an unnecessary piece of metal is obscene.
And I fully appreciate that as someone who adores handbags, shoes and clothes that it is a hypocritical stance.
