How often do you eat out (not including McDonalds!)?

OP posts:
sozzledchops · 07/02/2012 12:41

Usually once at least with the kids in the eevening and perhaps once for lunch with Husbnad of friends. Can vary to sometimes more or sometimes less.

Dickensia · 07/02/2012 12:42

I don't eat out unless I'm with someone else and I'm not with someone else very often. When I still had my DDH, we ate out once a month before a regular meeting.

Meglet · 07/02/2012 12:42

zukie we're meant to sit in the gutter and eat the strewn leftovers from peoples kebabs Wink.

My parents never took us out as kids as we were too badly behaved, so mine have been eating out right from day 1. Apart from a couple of (severe) allergies they'll eat anything, then they start on my food Hmm.

msbuggywinkle · 07/02/2012 12:42

Usually twice a week. Once in the week when out with friends and the children, then every sat with DP.

twincrazy · 07/02/2012 12:42

usually eat out with the kids twice a month, we have some great cheap turkish restaurants around here

I will eat out with the kids somewhere cheap and cheerful once a week.

DH and I about once every other month only because of babysitter situation

Take away once a week..but even that is getting abit boring and expensive.

Dickensia · 07/02/2012 12:42

And you are quitre right. Eating at McDonalds is not eating out you do not get cutlery.

SimoneD · 07/02/2012 12:44

Heidi I would second Alibabas suggestion to go out as much as poss whilst your baby is so little. Its so easy, they just sleep in their prams/carseats whilst you are having a lovely meal and you dont hear a peep from them. DD is 18 months now and its a whole different ballgame!

EldonAve · 07/02/2012 12:44

Once a fortnight
We have takeout once a week though

We eat out a couple of times a month usually family friendly places. We normally go for late lunch/early dinner type meals because dd is a PITA after 6pm its generally cheaper

Usually once a week. Pretty much always the same place as the kids know it and we know they'll behave themselves there.

TheRhubarb · 07/02/2012 12:59

Only on Mumsnet would posters feel the need to justify how many times they eat out and where Grin

lynniep · 07/02/2012 13:01

Maybe twice a year with just DH. More like 5 times a year with friends. Then on holiday we will eat out as well.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 07/02/2012 13:01

I have seen people be bloody rude to you zukie. Ignorant sods.

some people like to have a waggy finger zukie and feel better after having given somebody they deem beneath them a telling off , they can go about their day with a smugness , they are best ignored TBH

AngryFeet · 07/02/2012 13:13

We eat out as a family once a week at the Harvester - DH and the kids are big fans and I am ok with some chicken and salad. It is about £30 for 4 main meals, drinks and 3 desserts and we can afford it. Apart from that only on special occasions.

mrsjay · 07/02/2012 13:17

brewers fayre do a buffet menu a few times a week me and dh sometimes go there if he isnt working at lunchtime , I think its £4.99 for a main meal

MiladyGardenia · 07/02/2012 13:23

It makes some people feel all superior and holier-than-thou, zukiecat. Poor sad creatures Grin

We eat out at least once a week, sometimes twice, and DH and I go out on our own about once a month (ish). We recently went for a Posh Meal and had the works- because DH's boss felt guilty about the amount of hours he was working in the run-up to Christmas and told DH to 'take your wife' out for a good nosh-up on the company. So we did. (Am not sure boss will make that mistake again Grin )

I didn't include coffee and cake Blush, it would top me from a few times a week to almost daily.

Im my defence, I have a baby so social life seems to evolve around coffee and cake!

MainlyMaynie · 07/02/2012 13:35

Usually once a week with DH (and DS) and once a week with friends (and DS). I find eating out with a baby is very easy, I guess it will get harder when he's a toddler.

TheBigmouthBugle · 07/02/2012 13:35

Zukie you eat? How dare you! Grin

Please don't let shitey comments like that get you down (although I appreciate that can be difficult if you are already suffering low confidence and self esteem)

Getting out and about, and socialising is so important and any decent person would understand that.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 07/02/2012 13:35

You come across as lovely to me zukie - the thing I remember most about your posts is your shining pride in your children.

Just ignore the rude sods.
