Last year we had a house party for dhs bday , two of our friends (more dhs than mine) got drunk and had a one night stand in our baby's bbedroom (he was out) dh is still fuming about it and he feels it has tainted ds bedroom.
I am furious about it too but feel apart from not speaking to them again it has happened and what can we do? Dh is stewing on it and with his depression things really getto him and it puts him in a foul mood which we get the brunt of,
what would you do? I just wish he would forget about it since there is nothing we can really do about it .

SydSaid, I had mentioned that they check up on the female guest as the OP had said that the man had a history of being inappropriate and the female was going through a tough time, so if they were both drunk it would seem appropriate to just check that all was well. Another poster took this as me saying the woman had probably been raped. As often happens on Mumsnet, you say one thing and someone else takes an entirely different meaning from it.

Op has now clarified that both adults consented.

The last sentence sums it up well for me, Mrswhiskerson. Exactly that!

PS SydSaid, I too found that post hilarious Grin

re: getting the 'shaggers' to redocorate the room - It was tongue in cheek.

workedoutforthebest · 07/02/2012 13:23
  • redecorate
TheRhubarb · 07/02/2012 13:27

But the OP took it on board workedoutforthebest!

Mrswhiskerson · 07/02/2012 13:42

I was only joking about roping them into it!! I wanted a bit of light relief amd thought that would come across in my message of course I wouldn't rope them into it !

Sorry OP, I could just imagine you whipping the pair as they fitted a new carpet and painted the walls!

Mrswhiskerson · 07/02/2012 14:35

That would be funny, I could stretch out on a chaise longue sipping a cool drink and they could peel me grapes inbetween papering and decorating I could have a spray bottle with cold water in case things get heated.

I asked DH (most laid-back but good family man ever award).

He said - if in DC's bed - he'd be furious/ If on floor, a bit cross but would see the funny side.

HTH.

SarahSowerberry · 07/02/2012 15:01

If the act of sex somehow taints a room, what does the Ops DH do if/when they move into a previously owned house? Where it is quite likely there has been sex in most rooms. And possibly even the garden. Nowhere is safe!

Not to mention if they buy a second hand car. You can't bleach or redecorate a car. Blush

SydSaid · 07/02/2012 15:22

TheRhubarb, I wasn't making a comment about how rape came into the conversation, I just didn't want anyone to think that I was laughing at that aspect of this thread. I got to page 3 (how appropriate!) and posted in reference to earlier comments.

TheRhubarb · 07/02/2012 15:59

Syd, I've done that many a time! I've made a ranty comment after reading a couple of pages only to find that the thread is now 15 pages long and has moved onto talk of perverted pixies and dangling knobs and then I come along with a completely insane rant!

There should be an option to move your comment to the middle of the thread where it makes more sense!
