'The Nobdies are basically a newish group who have copied the BESH formula. They had a recruitment drive, gave their group a slightly quirky name, and they call each other "Nobdies", and do all the fantasy stuff. It's for people who want to be part of a visible tribe that's a bit cool, but don't meet the BESH criteria* and/or don't want to have to try to break into a long established and tightly knit group'

Sorry, but this is just all wrong. Nothing to do with the BESHes, I wouldn't know what their 'formula' is and have certainly never tried - or failed - to meet their criteria.

WTF is 'all the fantasy stuff'?

There was no 'recruitment drive', either. We have just always been wholly inclusive - everyone is welcome, that's the point of Nobdies. Yes, in-jokes have evolved over time, but we are basically a group of people who have become friends. It started as a joke, rebelling against 'Royalty', and has become a rather brilliant, supportive and unique place. There's no tribalism, and no desire to be cool Grin

HTH

Nagoo · 21/01/2012 13:42

BESH is a quiche thread about getting a baby and rocking with it Grin From what I can tell, they are hard and would beat us in a fight.

Awayinamangercooper · 21/01/2012 13:44

BESH just an example. By your own account some group you call Mumsnet Royalty is the group that inspired the Nobdies thread. As I say, nothing wrong with starting a group if that's what you want to do.

I think their quiche threads are fundamentally flawed now, they can't really claim to be nobdies or nobodies or unknowns as their threads are frequent and always in active convos, they have become a paradox.

Therefore I am a true nobdie, so much so I started my own thread this week where I've been talking to myself. I posted on a thread a v dry sarcastic comment in relation to thread op and was told I was being rude, as a one true nobdie they just didn't get me.

Thanks beer Im a prolific lurker of course!

May be I should start a quiche called plurkers.

I will continue to plough, this is v true v true. I'm going back to my hybrid slattern/flying/nesting list of jobs on my own thread.

That's lovely for you to suggest but I have DH under domestic control and im mostly in a semi supervisory roll today. He does work hard, cooks cleans etc but is utter pants at organising tidying and any DIY.

Taked care you never know when you are being plurked...j.

FoofFighter · 21/01/2012 14:16

Nagoo I didn't get a cocktail or cake. I got locked in the cupboard Sad

Ok I didn't have a ballgown on but I did have my onesie on which is just as stylish surely?
