Surely I'm not the only one!

The Oxfam Goat from FIL - did he turn up with other gifts?

The Kindle found in the boot of DH's car - who was it for?

The online company who sent OP the wrong perfume - did it get resolved? (don't say too much about that as it kept getting deleted on previous threads)

I'm sure there's more... I am rubbish at searching sorry Blush

OP posts:
Figgyrollsintoapudding · 01/01/2012 22:02

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 01/01/2012 22:06

Me too Grin when was that thread? I seem to remember it being quite a long time ago!

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 22:07

I was only a lurker but couldn't put a date on it. Sad

InExcelsisDeo · 01/01/2012 22:26

I always wanted to know if that woman's son took his supersoaker to the party.

But i would settle for an update on the bumslap dance.

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 01/01/2012 22:28

Getting all teary at the sock monkey thread. How sweet

Tigerstripes · 01/01/2012 22:30

Ooh yes, the bumslap dance and how they also threw acorns at each other! I'd forgotten that one.

Bewilderedmum · 01/01/2012 22:35

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 01/01/2012 22:36

The Tuna Family are indeed reunited and are setting up home under DDs bed as soon as she evicts her brother who is fighting tooth and nail to stay put and I have the pictures and have been fobbing everyone off going to post them since Christmas Day but have had a slight technical hitch have lost the wire that connects the phone to the computer and will post them as soon as I can. I did update the original thread which is now in Classics and will post the pics asap Grin

LesserOfTwoWeevils · 01/01/2012 22:41

Was the horrible DSD/dog poster the boxroom troll?

To2012AndBeyondTheLimits · 01/01/2012 22:44

There was a poster who had her brother and sister living with her too after her mum had kicked them out. She had a few threads on similar subjects. Dont remember her updating them, wonder if shes still around...?

Gigondas · 01/01/2012 22:45

We really need a previously on mn section for updates.

needanewname · 01/01/2012 22:46

Am loving the updates. Keep em coming please!

Collision · 01/01/2012 22:46

bump

InExcelsisDeo · 01/01/2012 22:47

That is exactly what we need Gigondas

clam · 01/01/2012 22:51

What about the woman whose terribly religious SIL was insisting that she (the OP) and her DP (who had 4 children together) didn't share a bedroom at the PIL's large family house?

Bohica · 01/01/2012 22:57

Was the horrible DSD/dog poster thread a troll?

I always fall for them, I wasted a whole afternoon on the train station toilet/shit myself thread/poo troll.

DaPrincessBride · 01/01/2012 23:05

Bump slap dance one.
FIL Goat one.
SIL didn't want dog at PIL.

Xmas Grin
To2012AndBeyondTheLimits · 01/01/2012 23:08

Dont think horrible DSD/dog was a troll, but it seemed she may have posted a few times before on the same lines...

whenskiesaregrey · 01/01/2012 23:09

I'd like to know if carrie is okay??

EtInTerraPax · 02/01/2012 00:07

Does anyone know what happened to the poster who was very very isolated (i.e. v rural somewhere) and her husband wouldn't let her go anywhere? (it was a while ago now...) I have thought about that one intermittently since.

And the lady who slept on the windowsill Sad

ProfessorSunny · 02/01/2012 09:02

EtIn, the lady who slept on the windowsill?! What was all that about then?

I'd also like to know how Vivipru's murder mystery party went, please.

Possibly the least juicy of all the updates requested on here, but anyway. Rather than update & resurrect the thread, I'll update here.

As the majority who had read my subsequent posts were aware, I conceded I didn't ought to feel put out having reached the 5pm compromise (didn't stop a few people reading the OP and declaring me to be precious, moaning and a complete control freak Confused )

As it transpired, the couple arrived at 5.30pm. By that time, DP and I had packed my overseas friends off after breakfast, cleaned the house, set up two guest rooms, taken all of the furniture out of the dining room and replaced with a 6ft table that wouldn't have fitted otherwise, laid the table for 3 courses (including a mad dash to DMs for extra cutlery Confused ) polished all the glass, decorated the dining room in 50's hollywood style, made a salmon en croute & prepped all the veg (ok that was more DP than I) prepped the canapes, reconfigured the packed-out post-xmas fridge to create space for baby provisions & the food guests were bringing, found and ironed 'costumes', set up the props and DVD for the murder mystery, removed all potential crawling baby-perils (trailing cables etc) and packed the dog off to my Mums .

They walked through the door literally as I'd just lit the last tealight. DP had been on an errand and pulled up the drive behind them blocking them in, and I offered to move our car in case they might change their minds about staying over (as a poster on my original thread had suggested they may) but they were incredulous that I would even suggest such a preposterous idea and was it ok if they helped themselves to the wine?

DD was fed and played with till about 6.30 when she was put down. She was really grizzly for ages, but the couple took it in their stride and DP and I took that time to get ready. My 10 year old graduation ball dress needed some convincing to zip up and I was bulging out all over the place but that was to be expected given the cheesemonster I am. The man of the couple had arrived in costume and the woman got ready at the same time as us. By the time the other couple arrived at 7.45, DD was pretty settled, and we didn't have a peep out of her all night. The couple checked on her a couple of times but she was out for the count.

It was an absolute blast, everyone got really into it (my usually reserved, introverted DP was a revelation as filmstar-turned politician) and it was more than worth the effort.

DD wailing in the room next door at 6am grated a bit on 4 hours' sleep and 1/6th share of the the 10 bottles of bubbly, but I didn't mind since she'd been brilliant all night and I reasoned she was entitled to get a bit vociferous.

So all in all a success and thanks to AIBU for getting me over myself and putting things in perspective. Their 5.30pm arrival was ideal as it turned out as it meant DD was sorted by the time we wanted to get into the party, while forcing DP and I to zip through the tasks of the day giving us a more stress-free last couple of hours.

Now please can some of the OPs of the more interesting threads come back and update?!

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 02/01/2012 10:16

I still getting a crushing wave of guilt every time I open the airing cupboard door to get spare bedding out of the back and catch sight of the toy army helmet I repeatedly forgot to post to PomBear for Mr Tuna! Sad

Sorry Pom. If he still needs it, I will try very hard to be not as crap in 2012.

Wouldn't you have more chance of updates if you bump the relevant threads?
