Well speaking as a 'non-feminist' (yes, that's non-Feminist, not anti-feminist) I was offended by the 'seeing to' comment and I can understand how many times feminists have to read that kind of infantile tedious crap, but the thing is, that's all it is, and we know it. That is trolling and derailing in the true sense, and the best way to deal with it is to refuse to engage, as it's a waste of energy, directing anger at some sad loser who is probably intimidated by intelligent women. So I didn't engage. Simple.

I think most people recognise an childish, thinly veiled attempt at trolling when they see it. Just because they didn't chose to waste breath arguing with him doesn't mean they don't object to what he said.

I know there's a specific arguments now undersway here, but I would like to say in general the Feminism Board has some excellent threads and yes, a few that aren't so challnging.

I have received advice on the Feminism Board about licensing policy and Sexual Entertainment Venues, which was really good.

I have also seen some pretty vile comments of the hyenas-in-petticoats variety, and ignored them because they were so very lamely faux 'provocative'.

Its not overlooked Boney, but its hardly surprising that a feminism section concentrates more on examining the female perspective than the male.

If you wouldn't be surprised to find that City aren't a hot topic of conversation on the United forums, even though they are both football teams, then you can't be surprised that Mens issues are not a hot topic of conversation on a feminist board. It doesn't take away the validity of the topic to discuss it in the right place.

And technically Custy is right, they were National Socialists, whereas to be Fascist you have to be extreme right wing.

All Nazis are fascists, but not all fascists are Nazis, Yellow. So while the feminists on mumsnet aren't being compared to Hitler, they are being told they are a bit Mussolini-ish. Still, I'm told he got the trains running on time- so that's a silver lining, I suppose.
