Who is stupid enough to send cash by post ?

shaketheshame · 17/12/2011 14:35

My mil is. She sent 60 pounds by post and my dh lost it. He put it in his wallet and he must have lost it to the shop.

So I'm pissed off with Mil for sending £60 by post when she could have made a transfer and I'm pissed off with dh for losing it.

Now my shopping day is cancelled, the 60 pounds were a contribution to our ds's xmas gifts.

AIBU ?

OP posts:

It didn't get lost in the post, did it? How it arrived is a complete irrelevance, your dh had it in his possession and then lost it. Blame him, if you must blame anyone for what was obviously a complete accident. Xmas Confused

Sparklingbaubles · 17/12/2011 15:12

I reckon DH hid it in his dressing gown so that OP couldn't get their mitts on it. Then told her he lost it. If she doesn't like his mother he may be being reasonable?

DuchessofMalfi · 17/12/2011 15:29

How to waste time - read a thread about how OP hates her MIL because she dared to send money in cash for Christmas, then DH tells OP he's lost it. But wait, no he hasn't, he's hidden it in his dressing gown. Aaaaaarrrrrgh Xmas Grin.

rhondajean · 17/12/2011 15:31

Im slow today, if the cash hadnt been sent (and arrived) in the post, the husband wouldnt have lost it and then refound it so the whole problem is that the cash was once in the post?

squeakytoy · 17/12/2011 15:58

Sometimes, the stupidity of a poster astounds me... OP, you have to rank as one of the most stupid I have seen on here in some time...

Although your husband doesnt sound too clever either.

Your poor MIL.

I hope she never sends you another penny, cos I wouldnt if I knew what an ungrateful cow you are.

I don't think sending cash by post is stupid! I've had a few things with cash in, and they all arrived safely.

poor MIL. Sad

OP, you sound like a right cow.

perceptionreality · 17/12/2011 17:00

The fact your MIL sent it by post bears no relation to how it got lost. You received it fine...and then your dh lost it. This is his fault, not your MIL's!

Sossiges · 17/12/2011 17:00

Who is stupid enough to write a brainless thread blaming their MIL for something that never happened?
I wouldn't send you any money in the post or otherwise if I were your MIL - you sound like a right caah.

Sossiges · 17/12/2011 17:01

I'll have some of what Alpine Pony is having.

Sossiges · 17/12/2011 17:02

x-post w/ Lydia

perceptionreality · 17/12/2011 17:04

The OP sounds like my mum. I dyed my hair with Loreal casting creme gloss, my mum liked it so bought some for herself, got angry when it turned out to be a different colour than she imagined, then said it was my fault!!

TarquinGyrfalcon · 17/12/2011 17:09

How on earth is this you MIL's fault.

If your DH had lost his keys or phone today would you blame her?

HairyNigel · 17/12/2011 17:10

Jeez your a bitch OP!

Driftwood999 · 17/12/2011 17:16

MIL's get a bit of a roughing up don't they? Never really understood that, as in all probability, many of us here are MIL inwaiting! Lets be kind Xmas Grin

mynewpassion · 17/12/2011 17:18

Did you even call and thank her for the money? Bet you didn't.

Who is rude enough to receive money and not thank the giver?

CupOfGoodCheer · 17/12/2011 17:19

Another one feeling sorry for MIL.

OK, sending cash through the post is daft as it can easily be lost, but ffs your DH "lost" it! How is it your MIL's fault?

perceptionreality · 17/12/2011 17:21

I think the OP has been gone since the money was found in dressing gown. As long as she gets her shopping day I imagine she won't give this thread another thought...

Xmasbaby11 · 17/12/2011 17:26

Totally DH's fault. How can anyone lose 60 quid? Completely irresponsible ... or lying.

TheOriginalFAB · 17/12/2011 17:57

I suspect the OP is just saying the money has been found in his dressing gown to finish the thread.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 17/12/2011 17:59

I suspect that TheOriginalFab is correct. Xmas Grin

blackoutthexmaslights · 17/12/2011 18:07

i bet the mil put the money in the dressing gown just to get at the op

thats how its the mil fault Xmas Grin

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 17/12/2011 18:13

I need to know - did he go to the shop in his dressing gown?

I suspect FAB is right too - bottle shop next to the newsagent?? I wonder if he's that kind of a guy? PMSL. Twat.
