Sure he probably was lying. Maybe he wasn't and should have had the maturity to handle it differently, who knows, but for a random stranger to handle this KID in this way is horrific!

AIBU?

FanjoForTheReindeerJumper · 12/12/2011 21:39

the "kid" is thinking its hilarious and enjoying his moment of fame.,.found his facebook page..i wouldnt be too sympathetic

TeddyBare · 12/12/2011 21:39

Onefatcat ? people DO still have rights even if they break the law. That is the basis premises of a justice system! Just supposing that a bigger man had been on the train, would it have been ok for him to throw off the first big man for committing assault and being a bit of a dick?

oldenglishspangles · 12/12/2011 21:40

where is it fanjo?

FanjoForTheReindeerJumper · 12/12/2011 21:43

redlac · 12/12/2011 21:44

And yet he managed to get a place at Heriot Watt!!!

UterusUterusGhali · 12/12/2011 21:44

He isn't a wee child. He's an arsey teenager.

If it were my son, I'd want the big man to chuck him off.

SoVery has a very good point though.

ExcitedElectrons · 12/12/2011 21:45

FanjoForTheReindeerJumper · 12/12/2011 21:45

FanjoForTheReindeerJumper · 12/12/2011 21:47

seriously people..don't waste your concern on him, he thinks its funny

usualsuspect · 12/12/2011 21:50

I think the young ned will probably just turn into an old ned ,just like the big man

maybenow · 12/12/2011 21:52

i've seen lots of people thrown off london night buses by the other passengers. i used to waitress and use night buses to get home (sober) and almost one time in every three or four there'd be somebody at some stop who would refuse to pay. the driver just calls the authorities then refuses to drive, after 20mins or so some other passengers get pissed off enough and throw the non-payer off. actually in all those times, i've never actually seen the authorities arrive (we've waited more than half an hour at times).

zookeeper · 12/12/2011 21:53

good on the conductor and good on the passenger - The man was calmly removed from the train on which he had no right to travel .

FanjoForTheReindeerJumper · 12/12/2011 21:53

or maybe he will be an old ned like his dad..who also has a facebook page and wants to beat up the "big man"

always has been!!

festi · 12/12/2011 22:00

pm me his facebook too please.

HeidiKat · 12/12/2011 22:08

oh me too for the facebook page .

Wee numpty got what was coming to him, I wish instant karma would happen to his type more often.

NinkyNonker · 12/12/2011 22:09

Feel free to kick him off the train. If you are imbued with the authority to do so, bot just cause you're a bit pissed off, can't control yourself and fancy throwing your weight around. Where do you draw the line?

redlac · 12/12/2011 22:09

Fanjo ive just saw his dads page too

perfumedlife · 12/12/2011 22:34

I'm Scottish and I think he should have been taken off the train, with force if neccessary, which it was as he refused to leave.

As I said upthread, I was uncomfortable that it seemed the big guy was beginning to enjoy it a little too much but others have said it wasn't him referring to himself as the big guy so who knows. It could just be he was chivalrous enough to offer to help an elderly inspector in a situation that was not moving. I sense a change in society, people have had quite enough of feeling powerless, cowed and hamstrung by the myriad of rights and responsibilities that only seem to really apply to a small proportion of the population.

I also said I would have paid his fare if he's been polite enough to the inspector and unable to buy a ticket. Of course I would, I have done similar in the past. But once you start treating others as shit on your shoe, that offer is null and void.

Too little discussion about the rights of the ticket inspector to go about his job safely, or passengers to have a smooth journey, all for a disaffected yoof with an attitude problem and probably and career in student protesting.

TwoIfBySea · 12/12/2011 23:02

Had the ticket inspector been younger I think the passenger wouldn't have stepped in. As it was if he and his dad are proving how low down the gene pool they are then it just goes to show where he got his manners from. If this is the type of student Heriott Watt have then that is quite shocking. I always thought they were a decent uni.

So was he thrown off in Linlithgow? He could walk down stairs & get a taxi the rest of the way. He's have to pay though.

He deserved it!

TwoIfBySea · 12/12/2011 23:17

All the people who are wringing their hands over him getting thrown off - what if he'd had a knife and the ticket inspector had gotten hurt? What then?
