In a road traffic accident.

I have no more details except they went to DS1's school (the year below). School has held a mass, and informed all parents.

I am sitting here in tears; thankful it was not my child, my heartbreaking for the family of a child I've never met.

Truely horrid for all family and friends involved

A child died on the road to my house 2 months ago. I think about it every day.

Try to be there to comfort your child xx

YANBU! A child at DCs school got hit by a coach 2 weeks ago on her way to school. Thankfully she was ok (rescussed at scene, fractured skull, but home again now)
The poor poor family :(

Sad
DoingTheBestICan · 07/12/2011 20:16

That poor family.

My Nana lost her first born son the week before Christmas at the age of 18 to a rta,she nor my Granddad got over it ever.

Poor family,

fuzzynavel · 07/12/2011 20:17

I would also be in floods of tears. It's every mothers worst nightmare and considering it was a pupil at your DS's school it brings home what a gift our children are.

Kayano · 07/12/2011 20:20

In my primary school a family was in an accident not long after Christmas.

It was terrible and heartbreaking, two children died, the youngest was in reception. The whole year was somber and upsetting Sad

The poor poor family

The death of a child is a heartbreaking event. We should be touched by it. There would be something wrong if you weren't sad and horrified by this. YANBU.

Poor family Sad. Just before Christmas Sad.

soandsosmummy · 07/12/2011 20:28

:( YANBU. A 14 year old girl was killed not far from where I live and there was also an incident where 3 boys aged 14-17 took one of their parents cars for a joy ride and killed themselves by speeding. I cried when I heard about both and I didn't even know them or their families :(

wannabestressfree · 07/12/2011 20:32

Two teenage boys at the school I work out lost their mother last week. She sadly just collapsed. We all sat in stunned silence when the head announced it. Death is just so sad whenever it is and especially just before christmas......

MitziKinsky · 07/12/2011 20:33

Thank you all for reassuring me I'm not being silly. I really thought MN would go completely the other way and say I was being ridiculous.

It's just so horrible I want to wrap my DC up and go and live on the beach in the sun for ever, which obviously isn't possible.

A boy who went to the school my eldest used to attend died last week. It would have been his birthday a couple of days later . His poor family. Thinking of them all

DamnBamboo · 07/12/2011 20:35

I am welling reading this and the responses.

I too would be very sad.

I burst into tears once when watching a documentary on TV when one of the cast, suddenly died. He was a 16 year old boy.

I was beside myself, it was awful.

My thoughts are with the family tonight, wherever they are.

DamnBamboo · 07/12/2011 20:35

welling up

troisgarcons · 07/12/2011 20:40

No, you arent being daft - my sons school has had a couple of awful, tragic deaths (SIDS, brain haemorage, heart attack) and although I never directly know the children involved - you cant help but feel it's all too close to home.

Death of a child is an awful thing. Somehow it seems worse on top of Christmas.

wilkos · 07/12/2011 20:42
