In a road traffic accident.

I have no more details except they went to DS1's school (the year below). School has held a mass, and informed all parents.

I am sitting here in tears; thankful it was not my child, my heartbreaking for the family of a child I've never met.

On my first day a secondary school, I saw an older child knocked off his bike and killed. That was over 30 years ago and I have never forgotten it and it still upsets me to think of it. So no, YANBU.

OhThisIsJustGrape Oh maybe not, replaced woolies with iceland. Seems theres two families then that lost their little girl xmas eve/xmas morning :(

Reading all of this thread has given me wet eyes . It's heart breaking to lose children,or anyone .

God, how awful. Nothing is more heartbreaking than the death of a child.

Not at all unreasonable. A boy in my sons class died unexpectedly on Sunday aged 7, all of the concerts have been called off and the school has a short service and balloon release tomorrow afternoon. It's a special school and all the staff and pupils are very close, my son doesn't have any comprehension of what has happened but has been playing up in class this week as have many children through the school - they must be picking up on the sad atmosphere.

There was a 14 year old killed in a hit and run here in Dublin this week.He was buried this morning.They havent found the driver yet.Its very sad as his friend was killed a few years ago along the same stretch of road and he was with him when he died.It just breaks your heart.

That was dreadful, wasn't it rainbow? How someone could hit someone and keep going is beyond me.
