picture the scene if you will...

you are working a 7 day week. today you have worked a 9 hour day, starting at 7am, with hardly a break, you missed lunch as you were so busy.

you arrive home in the evening and you pass your DP/DH as he is going to work as you come in.

you cook a meal for your 2 teenagers, one of whom is 20 tomorrow. As that meal is almost ready, you call your 2 to come and get their meal.

as you are serving up the meal your 20 yr old shouts to you " what did you call me for? you said it was ready, i am busy"

would you:
A) serve him his meal with a sweet smile and an apology for interrupting his busy schedule?
B) make sure that before he left the room he was wearing his meal.
C) tell him to bog off back to his busy life and scrape his meal into the dog.

please do tell me what you would do, as i am most interested to find out if i was unreasonable. i chose one of the options above....i will tell you which one later.
thankyou

IggyPup · 01/12/2011 19:07

C. But only if it wouldn't upset doggy's tummy

Yawner247 · 01/12/2011 19:07

Oooooh I'm thinking b maybe c....I'm going with b...just to keep them busy!! Grin

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe · 01/12/2011 19:07

I would just tell him what I had done today, be straight and upfront about it. Don't do a tantrummy thing like a child.

Dawndonnathatchristmasiscoming · 01/12/2011 19:07

I'm voting for a mix of B and C. The dog shouldn't be overfed!

bea · 01/12/2011 19:07

C!

Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2011 19:07

Not B because you would have to clear up the mess anyway. So C.

dexter73 · 01/12/2011 19:08

C and I would have a very happy dog!

picnicbasketcase · 01/12/2011 19:08

Definitely C, he is being a rude and entitled overgrown brat. No offence meant, I'm sure he's lovely usually, but that kind of ungrateful crap needs to be stopped.

alysonpeaches · 01/12/2011 19:09

C, I know its no consolation but I have been there.

squeakytoy · 01/12/2011 19:09

C, with a suitcase thrown after him...

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 01/12/2011 19:09

c.

said · 01/12/2011 19:09

C but i like B better.

Pascha · 01/12/2011 19:10

c. Or possibly D - eat it myself. In front of him.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 01/12/2011 19:11

C but if there is mashed potato a good dollop would go into their hair. Just for the craic.

louiespence · 01/12/2011 19:11

Another vote for C!!

LeBOF · 01/12/2011 19:12

Is there a D, where you cover it in clingfilm, shove it in the fridge and notice a nice bottle of wine in there that is begging to be drunk?

ThatVikRinA22 · 01/12/2011 19:12

oh bibbity....i remained eerily calm....no tantrums here, and i did explain exactly what i had done today. he replied "ooooook MUM!! he couldnt give a flying fig.

for the last 2 nights i have lost my rag with him, as 2 days ago he moaned when i asked him to dry the pots (the only thing i had asked him to do all day) and then yesterday he moaned at me about putting some shopping away that had been delivered before dropping the bag with a full bottle of balsamic vinegar in it all over the kitchen floor prior to walking dog shite all over my living room floor...

having hissy fits does nothing but exhaust me and fall on deaf ears.
