to only wash bath towels once a month?

or less Blush

DH is in charge of washing his own towel and I am sure he never puts it in the wash more often than once every 2 or 3 months...

DS's goes in about once every 2 months (but it barely touches him as he likes to run around naked pretending to be a train driver straight after his bath, which dries him quite effectively).

I usually wash mine about every month but have realised that I haven't washed it since coming home from hospital with DD, who is now 5 weeks...in my defence, there is one HECK of a lot of other washing to do and it just won't ever fit in the machine....

We do wash out clothes (!) and sheets once a week. And I do the kitchen hand towel every week or two - it gets quite grubby and also fits in the machine with another wash easily.

But are we grim and disgusting when it comes to bath towels? How often do normal people wash bath towels?

that was worded badly - we wash our clothes more than once a week! We don't all go around in the same old pants all week long... Shock

Sheets are once a week though.

You have just one towel each?

Kayano · 25/11/2011 14:59

Erm.... A lot more than that! At
Least weekly

Bellavita · 25/11/2011 15:00

We all have our own towel. They get washed once a week on a hot wash. The towels gets used every day morning and night with showers.

Kayano · 25/11/2011 15:00

I'm the opposite. I wash towels
More
Than sheets...

Catsdontcare · 25/11/2011 15:01

Kitchen hand towel every week or two. eek!
I change our towels weekly

mitziw · 25/11/2011 15:01

i wash towels loads but obviously its up to you. i wash bath/shower towels after each use.

2blessed2bstressed · 25/11/2011 15:01

EEEWWW! YABU Sorry for shouting, but.....EEEWWW!

FaverollesWithBoughsOfHolly · 25/11/2011 15:01

Ewwww! YABU and probably a tad stinky!
They need washing once a week at the very least!

starkadder · 25/11/2011 15:01

We only use one towel at a time each.

starkadder · 25/11/2011 15:02

haha, so we ARE grim?

they don't smell though. And neither do we!!

i wash my towels every 2 days because they become really damp and i hate a damp moldy towel.

supadupapupascupa · 25/11/2011 15:02

depends on how often they are used. I use my bath towel once per week and dry thoroughly, then gets used again. I was clean when i used t so don't see the problem. After 3 weeks it doesn't smell fresh anymore though so then i wash it.

winnybella · 25/11/2011 15:03

YABU. Ewww, in fact. And kitchen towel once every two weeks is quite bad as well, imo.

Here, we wash bath towels once ot twice a week, kitchen towels every day or two (depending on their state). Hand towel is changed every 2-3 days.

SunshineOnARainyDay · 25/11/2011 15:03

I was all of ours once a week, same as the bed linen

mrsmellow · 25/11/2011 15:03

Yeay! there hasn't been one of these threads in ages Grin

I think I'm quite lax with my towels compared to some posters on here, but once weekly at least. DH would happily leave it much longer and thinks I have some sort of obsession - as he puts it, he only uses it when he is clean Hmm

dottygirl1 · 25/11/2011 15:03

Would use a bath/shower towel twice (at very most), sometimes only once.

peacypops · 25/11/2011 15:04

I find it a bit odd to just have one towel each - what happens if people come to stay!? Anyhow, I would say that we wash ours after two or three uses. Beds get changed weekly.

Abbicob · 25/11/2011 15:04

I think if you are only using them once a month you are fine.

Mine go straight in the wash after each use - I love a fresh clean fluffy towel

Used every day Blush But we tend to hang on radiator to dry so they don't stay damp/get mouldy.

And we ARE saving the environment...??

peanutsmuggler · 25/11/2011 15:05

Ours probably get washed after getting used a couple of times, I do 3-4 towel washes a week always at 60 degrees.

CointreauVersial · 25/11/2011 15:05

Weekly here, but I do forget sometimes.

They don't dry out as well in the summer, when the heating is off, so they go musty after a few uses.

Yeerrgh, yes YABU.

Individual bath towels at least once a week, hand towels/tea towels every couple of days, if not every day.
