to be pissed off that I haven't had any trick-or-treaters round yet?

I've bought in a load of sweeties, I've carved a pumpkin and put it on the front porch. I've hung up bunting and put on Halloweeny music. I'm wearing a witch's hat. And not one of the ungrateful little feckers has deigned to knock on the door yet. Where the devil are they all? Have I gone to all this effort for nothing??? Or does my house just look unappealing [hhmm]

It's a bit early yet

I take mine at 6.30 because any earlier and I'd be worried about disturbing people's dinner.

addictediam · 31/10/2011 17:38

I've only had 1 lot and they were only half dressed up!

although I dont have very many sweets so hoping not many come

as i was typing they've started knocking on my door!!

iklboo · 31/10/2011 17:38

Just took DS out round a couple of houses. Haul of £4.70, sweets, chocolate and a bag of steak flavour crisps.

ZombiePlan · 31/10/2011 17:39

Are we supposed to give out money [hshock]?

AngryFeet · 31/10/2011 17:41

Me too. I bought a whole bucket of sweets. Is it early? Don't kids go to bed at 7?

potbellyqueen · 31/10/2011 17:42

We've only had 2 so far, who were very puzzled when I answered the door dressed as a witch, I thought the little buggers would be much more impressed [hangry]

ZombiePlan · 31/10/2011 17:44

Ahhhh - that's better! Just had my first lot. Bunch of cute little witches about 5yo - adorable! [hsmile]

DejaWho · 31/10/2011 17:44

Just had one lot knocking - who didn't take the hint we had the curtains drawn and ignored the first two sets of knocks - so proceeded to knock another five times.

addictediam · 31/10/2011 17:45

hell no zombie!! I do sweets and bags of crisps (when i run out) we dont do money

learningtofly · 31/10/2011 17:46

None here either which is disappointing since I have managed to hide the sweets from ds for three days.

Maybe they are all frightened of our house after the one year I ran down the stairs in only my jeans and bra expecting my sister as we were going out for my birthday!

Hardgoing · 31/10/2011 17:46

I had to promise to go round to next door as the lady always carves a pumpkin and is really disappointed if no-one shows up, so it's more public service than begging

SauvignonBlanche · 31/10/2011 17:47

I've just had my first.

They caught me out as I stupidly offered them the bowl and they all took a handful! [hshock]
I won't do that again!

There goes the door again...

iklboo · 31/10/2011 17:48

The lady in the local chippy called him in & gave him money, my folks & their next door neighbour did too.
One year our next door neighbour took him in the pub where she works and he ended up with about £15! Pity she moved......Grin

ZombiePlan · 31/10/2011 17:49

Sauvignon - what a bloody cheek!

ready and waiting with my halloween bowl that has a movement sensor hand in it and asks 'want some candy?' or says 'trick or treat' as the hand comes to life, mwahh haa haaa oh their faces as they reach in for the sweeties. gosh I am cruel.

bigTillyMint · 31/10/2011 17:51

Me too - only had the NDN's and I have to take a gaggle of witches out shortly - there will be no-one here to hand out the sweets [hshock]

VivaLeBeaver · 31/10/2011 17:52

Too early yet. Were not going out for another twenty mins.

molepom · 31/10/2011 17:53

They're all here that's why!

I've nearly run out and I bought 7 packets of mini chocolate bars, sweets and lollies.

Familydilemma · 31/10/2011 17:53

Rule of thumb-no goodies, loads of trick or treaters, lots of goodies-none! All the more chocolate for me, I'd say Wink

ZombiePlan · 31/10/2011 17:53

Bring them round to mine [hgrin]

SauvignonBlanche · 31/10/2011 17:54

I want a bowl that says "Just one you greedy sod" [hgrin]

ZombiePlan · 31/10/2011 17:55

Just had one group of 4 ten year old boys. All very polite and asked how many sweets they could take; all said thank you very much. Loads of people have signs up with pumpkins and a strike through. I didn't get the no trick or treaters memo.

bucaneve · 31/10/2011 18:01

I'm at my parent's house which is on a quiet cul-de-sac full of families.

We've had loads of the adorable moppet variety as opposed to the teenager with a scream mask variety.

Plus, almost all the houses are decorated with pumpkins and creepy things [hsmile]
