I was just browsing a computer forum ( I sometimes take a cheeky dive into the post a picture of yourself thread, some of the guys on there have some lovely jumpers) and I noticed they had a mumsnet thread.
Do you think this thread has good criticism about us? HERE
Sorry I am using a throwaway account as I don't want that forum to know that I am a girl who just goes there to look at the pictures of them.

forum of woman beaters!

no one is even contesting that comment about "backhanding she deserves"

If someone appeared to condone DV (that's domestic violence fuckwits) on this site they'd be run out of the place!

Oh dear, you silly little unintelligent cunt.

agree with them all you like, don't come here then!

it's quite simple

you either like mn or not. we don't hold ourselves up as some sort of moral guardians just because we have children.

people do make assumptions based on the media and probably twitters view of mn before really taking time to judge.

there are millions of forums no the web. find the one you like and ignore the others is it that hard to do?

'Well I'm gonna take my stretch marks and my wizard's sleeve to bed now.'... Hehehehehehehe. Brill. My stretchmarks are sat on the couch swilling wine and eating tempura prawns (mmm). I'm still attached to them, btw, haven't shed my skin like a snake, just in case that wasn't clear...

Seriously though, have teenage boys on their break nothing better to talk about? And then to feel the need to send a representative over here to tell us about it, in the hopes of starting a ruck? Weird. I mean, the last time I cared what a teenage boy thought of me, I was 13, and even then I realised pretty quickly that it was a waste of my time [hgrin].

Oh, P.S. - I have no fucking kids to neglect - d'ya supose it's okay that I'm spending my evening on here? [hwink]

Maybe we swear so much on here as we spent all day being perfect wives and mothers, probably best just so our husbands don't give us the 'backhanders we deserve'!!! Or ummm maybe ahhhhhhh bollocks! My poor neglected children (who have been tucked up asleep since7pm) are clearly going to grow up being severly mashed in the head Grin

To the poster over there who linked to the fundraising thread, in all seriousness I agree, that's what a good online community is all about. Which bring us neatly back to the original point on that there thread. MN has such an influence with the media because as a communituy we stand together for what we believe in, and people LISTEN. Pay attention to what Hecate said, we're all good people see? :)

hey boys.

If you're going to quote me, quote the whole bit.

Or don't you want to acknowledge that we really do support our members? Just want to pick out the bit about moral superiority without putting it in context? want to ignore what I actually said and why?

Go on, humour me. Quote the whole thing. You know, where I list all the great ways we support each other. Practical ways.

Or does that not fit in with how you want to think of mumsnet?

As a mum of 2 disabled children yes I do find the terms retarded and spazzing out offensive.

And no, I don't swear at/to my children, but after a hard day it's nice to let of a little steam with some adult conversation.

When one of our members has lost a child some wonderful ladies organise the making of a memorial quilt- lots donate wool, others knit squares for it.

It's what a forum full of "retards" do Hmm

"Some of language they use is shocking for so called mums."

It's fucking attrocious isn't it? Imagine, mums saying words like cunt, shit, fuck and spunkbubble! It shouldn't be allowed, only the menfolk should be allowed to do it!

Oh, HeadlessForHocusPocus, yes, those terms are extremely offensive. Please don't let some kids on another forum upset you though, they really aren't worth it. I was tempted to point out to them the wonderful support I (and so, so many others on MN) have received from other MNers... But that wouldn't fit in with the narrow-minded view they have of us, so I doubt they would listen.
