I love this forum so much , I wrote an entire routine about it . Would you like to see / hear it ?

OP posts:
vincentvangogh · 14/10/2011 14:28

meh also.

I HATE the word "comedienne". It makes me itch.

ScrambledSmegs · 14/10/2011 14:33

I didn't find it that funny, sorry. I smiled once or twice at the personal bits but that was it.

I understand why the stereotype was needed in the context of the routine, but still for me the whole thing lacked bite. [hsmile]

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 14:46

Mme Lindor - she wasn't mocking a stereotype, or rather she was, but she wasn't mocking the stereotype for being a stereotype, she was mocking "smug mums on MN"

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 14:47

HeadlessLamaaaaa - I don't know what you mean Confused

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/10/2011 14:57

Funny, but it could be longer, much, much longer. Wink

thefirstMrsDeVeerie · 14/10/2011 15:19

That Rasta Mouse one was real though.

There were people appalled that their children might start talking like black people. I saw it.

I think it started with someone being concerned it was sterotyping black people or someone being outraged because it was really about drugs not cheese (someone has some isshoos they need to look at). It soon turned into a mad thread about babies saying their first words in patois or something.

Hmm
rycooler · 14/10/2011 15:48

Hully - I do believe you're turning into a >

?? frothing berserker ?? Shock

Angel786 · 14/10/2011 15:54

I thought it was hilarious. Have posted a link on FB for my friends. For the record I don't drink organic milk, wear Cath Kidston, have a blond bob, have a nanny, worship Nigel Slater or lisp with Spanish words.

I might drink Pinot Grigio and think bankers should be paid bigger bonuses Blush ...is it after 11am? yes... ok time for Wine

celebmum · 14/10/2011 15:56

Made me giggle! Grin

rockboobs · 14/10/2011 15:57

everything you say, Mary Bourke. i have thought 1000 times. and i'm still here haha

HowAboutAHotCupOfShutTheHellUp · 14/10/2011 16:11

Midly amusing I suppose.

What is funny are the people who have taken offence.

Jesus, get OVER yourselves!

BlathersFright · 14/10/2011 16:21

I smiled. I didn't laugh

It's pretty much lifted entirely from the media stereotype and is rather lazy imo.

mosschops30 · 14/10/2011 16:21

Grin i thought it was funny, because im normal.
The posters who actually are mentioned in this clip will find it offensive because thats the point!

BOOareHaunting · 14/10/2011 16:26

I found it very funny. Grin

The ranty bit at the end had me in stitches.

Am. I. Being. Unreasonable. LMAO Grin

RosemarysBassoon · 14/10/2011 16:32

Oh mosschops, that's a silly thing to say. We'd all be laughing at John Bishop if we wanted to be normal, and where would that get us?

mosschops30 · 14/10/2011 16:40
Grin
AnyPhantomFucker · 14/10/2011 16:45

I can't be arsed to watch/read it unless you can guarantee I am on it

Whatmeworry · 14/10/2011 16:50

Brilliant - did you have Farrow and Ball in your rant?

2rebecca · 14/10/2011 16:57

I thought it was fairly boring and bore little resemblance to the funnier AIBU threads I have read and AIBU as I know it. If it was just full of smug mummies moaning most of us would have got bored long ago, it's the variety that makes it interesting (and funny).

unpa1dcar3r · 14/10/2011 16:58

I actually laughed out loud OP. But maybe that's cos i don't have a nanny, don't wear cathy wotsit (whoever the hell that is) don't drive a 4x4, don't drink organic milk, don't have a cleaner (I wish!), couldn't care less how my kids talk as long as they talk (they are SLD) and don't know who in hell Nigel Slater is...
You didn't mention the copious amounts of acronyms though...Aha, there's something new for you next time.

And by the way (Or BTW) I love your accent.

snoozin · 14/10/2011 16:58

I loved it, way to go girl : )

Sassybeast · 14/10/2011 17:00

I loved it - more please Grin

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 17:01

Really lazy. I don't believe you've been on her at all. You've just read what other people have had to say. I couldn't laugh because I didn't recognise the person you were talking about

Thanks for that

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 17:02

been on here

ShroudOfHamsters · 14/10/2011 17:05

Bit lame. But I expected it to be - t'was the 'comedienne thing.
