As a newbie - gosh, sorry - can I just point out the slight illogic? This is a forum for Mums. New Mums get created every day. And therefore new Mums will collectively reshape this forum as suits them.

tbh it DOES feel a little cliquey. And histrionic. And blimey I hope when the twins are born I have as much time to post as some of you do - or are you managing simultaneous typing/feeding? If so, 'spect!

You are missing the fact there are LOADS of forums for mums. This is just one. If you don't like it go somewhere else. There's plenty of choice.

I can simultaneously type, feed children, drink wine and teach spellings/times tables.

Funnily enough I never got a feel for the place before diving straight in. I'd never even used any type of forum before.

I would be hard put to it to spend as much time on my 14yo as you will be doing on your newborn twins, simply she needs a break from time to time to do her own thing, go out with her friends, revise her GCSEs, listen to music, read a novel etc. She doesn't require feeding more than a couple of times a day- in fact, she can bring me cups of coffee should I need to keep my strenght up whilst Mumsnetting
