the mysterious disappearance of Koi Carp from the farm house she rented.

I don't think Cherry's rudimentary craft skills extend to knitting patterns, especially something as complex as a conscience.

She'd be more likely to recommend we grab a paintbrush and give our soiled and niggardly hearts a fresh coat of F&B Clunch.

mayaswell · 20/04/2012 08:51

A moral compass then, from reclaimed ticking or vintage calico.

DaisySteiner · 20/04/2012 09:33

Oh come back and play Cherry Incensed. We can discuss the best way to sew in a hidden zip in a cushion cover. We'll be nice, promise

OTheHugeManatee · 20/04/2012 09:36

And the best way to do press photos so it looks like you're holding a Sabatier cleaver menacingly just out of shot?

Pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Ghastly! (though I do quite like the idea of making a fabric Union Jack picture.

FunnysInLaJardin · 20/04/2012 10:03

ohhh, an outsider thinks I am in a quiche. I have never been in a MN quiche, or had anyone thing I might be

BagofHolly · 20/04/2012 10:31

I got as far as page6 and still can't work it out! Is Cherry Menlove (like belle du jour) or MADE UP? (like Paul Calf.)

Excuse my dimness. Blush

FunnysInLaJardin · 20/04/2012 10:33

Cherry is real Bag despite appearances to the contrary. And not real like Belle du Jour. Tis her real name and real house and real life and everything. It really is that perfect all the time

BagofHolly · 20/04/2012 12:16

I'm laughing my arse off that she had twins! I'd put the deeds of the house on the fact that she's now all stained and hairy, spooning in jar food with one hand, and swigging gin with the other. That's what twins do to you and no one deserved them more than her! Grin

thatisall · 20/04/2012 12:45

I reckon Cherry is or certainly was a Mumsnet member...but what would her nn be ????

HipHopOpotomus · 20/04/2012 12:55

CherryMenLove ? - well it does sound made up Grin

thatisall · 20/04/2012 13:36

what about loveswhitepaint

OTheHugeManatee · 20/04/2012 14:13

ClunchInMyClunge?

TwoIfBySea · 20/04/2012 14:37

I do love a bit of crafty-ness but there are so many jumping on the (handmade from vintage) bandwagon it is hard to admit it now. I'm going to stand up and say I love SewLiberated, Montessori or not! Her boys seem to spend most of the time mucking about in mud puddles and that is fine by me. I've never been as organised as someone who could put that much effort into a child's room.

The links on this thread are fantastic. Cherry, I'm sure I've seen her in some of the magazines I selfishly buy but can't remember if she's one of the ones I cringe at - I'm thinking yes! White walls and twins, let me know how that one works out for you.

Hard to choose which is better, the virgins-and-no-wonder or financially-stupid-woman (with a face made for radio - there I said it, I'm ugly and fat too so I'm allowed!) I can write copious amounts of crap - would the Daily Fail hire me too, I need the money for all this white paint and gazebos I need to buy.

OhdearNigel · 20/04/2012 14:52

Is it me or do the home and garden pictures bear an uncanny resemblance to catalogue "stages" ? They are just so randomly placed and there is no "flow" like in a real garden.

Also the weird raised beds (in the how to plant peas post)- they just look as though they have been placed there for the photo. the garden doesn't look real.

thebody · 20/04/2012 14:54

Never heard of the nut job. Home made crafts make me want to hurl and spit at the same time

miranda34 · 23/04/2012 13:52

Hahahaha! Incensed, you really are ... insensed aren't you.

Question: How to win friends and influence people?
Answer: Erm .. rob and steal off them but do it with a smile and lets hope no one notices 'eh.

Cannot see the TV career lifting off now not after the DM article. Could not see myself tuning in to watch her. I'd be thinking about the fate of the koi and dm article every time she popped up. She's not very bright if she's falling out with everyone and ending up in court.

miranda34 · 23/04/2012 14:15

Ps ...

Incensed, I seriously do not think anyone is jealous of Cherry Menlove. The Dm article doesn't exactly paint her in a positive light. She and her husband come across as pretty dishonest types actually. I.e. 'all the money has gone'. Interesting, as she's just bought a house!!!!!!

She is not exactly setting a good example for herself or her 'brand'. If there's anymore court cases or even negative press (Daily Mail, clearly has it in for her now) then I can see her demise in the not too distant future. Yeeeaaaaaaaaaah!

TwoIfBySea · 23/04/2012 14:16

OP, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KOI CARP!!???! Need to know now!

miranda34 · 23/04/2012 14:19

according to the thread, she is involved in several court cases ... one for stealing koi carp from a rented house. she sounds a nightmare.

thatisall · 23/04/2012 14:31

I can't find an article about koi carp???? Just this one..

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2123099/A-lifestyle-guru-toast-prosecco-TV-dream-died-catfight-Starbucks.html

and they accept comments for legal reasons????

miranda34 · 23/04/2012 14:57

love the newspaper headline. 'A Lifestyle Guru, toast in Prosecco and a tv dream that die with a catfight in Starbucks' - very funny. Not exactly the serene, homely image she portrays on her website. She is so stupid letting this all go public. Who will take her seriously now.

FatSal · 23/04/2012 21:15

Insensed,

I have just read your posts on this thread. What you are doing by mentioning her husband's illness is attempting to excuse Menlove's behaviour as a vile employer. It does not matter what goes on at home, in the work place you behave within the law. My husband had his salary with held once and it is beyond stressful not being able to pay your mortgage or even your kids school trip fees. No one has the right to with hold money earnt and you need to wake up call.
