i need some perspective I think... Am 12 weeks pg, so hormones contributing to irrational emotions -AIBU....

We moved to new house in July, semi detached in London. Poor dd, 14 mo, has been unsettled since move and has woken up average twice a night crying. I soothe and put her back down within 15 mins. The past week she's been teething and waking screaming 6 times a night. So I have get in with me to quickly calm and try teething gel.

Last night 5am our neighbour (mid 20s woman) put a letter through our door saying she is fed up with dd crying, she has gone to doc for medication, and asking if she needs to move to get sleep...

My reaction was to write a note back suggesting in an offended and grumpy tone that she clearly has more issues if she needs to see doc because of crying baby and recommended she buy earplugs (I attached a packet of ear plugs for her).

Dh didn't let me put the note in her door - but am still fuming... AIBU?

I'd say it's a bit late for the wine & chocolates - since the thread is SIX YEARS OLD!!!!!

Fcukthetww · 23/05/2017 09:47

@Redglitter I know 😳 Chalk it up to late pregnancy sleep deprivation and unreasonable anger towards almost everything that I was too cross to check the date on the thread before posting.

EuroWin1 · 23/05/2017 09:52

YABU (but that is not surprising if you haven't slept for months Flowers).

You need to apologise and explain to your neighbour. It sounds like she has been tolerant for months and has finally snapped. Have a conversation and let her know you are doing everything you can.

InAWhileCrocodile · 23/05/2017 10:03

If the bedrooms can't be rejigged so she's not against the partywall, as a solution of sorts you could offer to buy your neighbour a white noise machine.

She could leave it on all night and maybe it would be enough to muffle / drown out the noise of the crying baby....

I can't use earplugs btw - and maybe your neighbour can't / doesn't want to either.

The white noise machine will also still enable you to hear alarms etc.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/05/2017 16:21

ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE

NotYoda · 23/05/2017 16:49

Shatners

Yes. Not even a couple of posts above their own. In fucking CAPITAL LETTERS

jajabonks · 23/05/2017 16:56

I'm a terrible sleeper and struggle to get to sleep if woken up which in turn leads to a migraine. I'd be so upset if this was going in for months - I know it's not your fault btw but you really need to try and do something - I have no idea what but your neighbour doesn't have kids? And she really shouldn't have to listen to the crying every night. If it was a one off now and again then I would say that she would just have to deal with that. Sorry

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/05/2017 16:58

ZOMBIE THREAD - NO LONGER RELEVANT

jajabonks · 23/05/2017 16:58

Urgh how annoying!

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2017 19:54

I hope to god someone has had some sleep in the last 6 years otherwise they'd be eternally sleeping.

Or perhaps the 20 yr old has had a couple of babies of her own and reeking revenge. Maybe one of her babies had a big enough exploding poo that it destroyed ops house and it collapsed.

Who cares.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/05/2017 19:59

And now even fewer people will realise it's a ZOMBIE

milliemolliemou · 23/05/2017 20:00

First posted in 2011? is there a resolution or should I read on?

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/05/2017 20:01

Well the kid isn't a baby anymore...

Willow2017 · 23/05/2017 20:50

Why the freak would you ressurect a thread that died 6 fucking years ago to argue with the op?

What possible point could there be?

It's a freaking epidemic. Just why? Do posters think they are so wise and important that the op will return to discuss it?

Out a picture of a zombie up or something please mn hq.

phoenixtherabbit · 23/05/2017 20:54

Really don't understand how anyone can say yabu!

Jesus Christ it's your baby crying not you and your dh having a screaming argument.

You can't exactly say to a screaming baby 'please stop crying dear you're bothering the nice lady next door' 🙄

phoenixtherabbit · 23/05/2017 20:55

Oh just seen zombie. Whoops!
