i need some perspective I think... Am 12 weeks pg, so hormones contributing to irrational emotions -AIBU....

We moved to new house in July, semi detached in London. Poor dd, 14 mo, has been unsettled since move and has woken up average twice a night crying. I soothe and put her back down within 15 mins. The past week she's been teething and waking screaming 6 times a night. So I have get in with me to quickly calm and try teething gel.

Last night 5am our neighbour (mid 20s woman) put a letter through our door saying she is fed up with dd crying, she has gone to doc for medication, and asking if she needs to move to get sleep...

My reaction was to write a note back suggesting in an offended and grumpy tone that she clearly has more issues if she needs to see doc because of crying baby and recommended she buy earplugs (I attached a packet of ear plugs for her).

Dh didn't let me put the note in her door - but am still fuming... AIBU?

As I said, it's polarising so it's still relevant whether you like it or not. If you don't like old threads, don't read 'em.

BeeThirtythree · 23/05/2017 05:38

Our neighbours on one side, do not have children, young couple...we have had DD1 and DD2 wake and cry sporadically for past 4 years. Regularly apologise and occasionally buy them some chocolates/bottle of wine.
On the other side, the men work a late shift, noisy when they come in, then speaking on the phone very loudly most nights until 5am...guess why I am still awake!
We did put a note through, after trying to talk f2f, apologising for DC noise and explaining how their coming in banging steel doors at 3am, wakes DC up, leads to crying( which happened often). The noise did decrease.

So different approaches with the situation, in OP case, f2f apologies and a chat. Lack of sleep on both your and neighbour's part, will lead to frustration...you have written it down, vented...now throw it away and calmly approach neighbour. Hope f2f you are able to resolve any ill feeling OP!

The dd is bloody 7 now

Zombie

StrawberryMummy90 · 23/05/2017 05:40

Sorry I can't take anyone who uses the phrase 'sugar plum' seriously Confused

Zombie threads are pointless and irritating. Yup you're entitled to post what you want but when you start of with 'how dare you?!!!' On a thread that is 6 years old it comes across as very odd. You're irrationally angry. Calm down.

Sparklingbrook · 23/05/2017 05:42

'Polarising' my arse.

MNHQ need to sort the zombies out. There's an epidemic. Hmm

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 23/05/2017 05:43

If you don't like old threads, don't read 'em.

As you'll see from the post below yours, people often don't realise it's a zombie thread and waste time reading and responding to them.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 23/05/2017 05:45

Who are all these idiots who keep resurrecting zombie threads???

Mulberry72 · 23/05/2017 05:52

Another ZOMBIE! Why do they keep resurrecting these?!?!

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2017 05:54

Do you have serious serious anger problems? It's extremely weird to resurrect 6 yr old threads and start ranting at the op @doesntsurprisemeanymore

Legma37 · 23/05/2017 05:55

Calls OP a 'horrible human being' whilst spectacularly ranting on a six year-old post which calls the OP (and others) 'snowflakes'. Now that really is a fresh and original insult Grin

A case of pot, kettle and black.

Ceto · 23/05/2017 06:05

Sorry, it's my right (as well as my choice) to write my opinion*

And it's everyone else's right to tell you that it's a daft thing to do in relation to an issue that is six years old.

Lolly34h · 23/05/2017 06:16

Buy your daughter a necklace made of amber beads. They are quite safe and stop children teething. My sister used it for both her daughters and they never teethed

NotYoda · 23/05/2017 06:19

I have reported this thread

You resurrected it to start a fight. Nice one.

Sparklingbrook · 23/05/2017 06:19

Daughter is now 7 years old. She might still like a necklace though.

Please check definition of Snowflake, I don't think you understand.
I didn't start a fight but simply stated my opinion, as is my right. Irrationally angry would be taking the bait of you all being abusively focussing on the fact that I happened to talk about something that in equal measures raises an interesting discussion and thoughtful debate, unless this particular topic touches a nerve with you? If not, then ignore the post.
Report me if you like, as is your right.

NotYoda Relax, I'm sure that everyone will manage to make up their own minds as to whether or not this is worth reading. And... you did say you reported me, don't you have trust in the administrator to take care of something that has a genuine reason to offend you?

Is this the new version of trolling? ffs.

doesntsurprisemeanymore · 23/05/2017 06:54

Trolling how exactly? I think it's more that you can't say something contructive on social media or anywhere on the internet without having your head bitten off.
