I mean she must have had 3 or 4 units, she was starting to really raise her voice and look lairy.

(btw she's awful when she's had a few)
But she did then give dd a forumla bottle and probably went 8 hours before feeding her. But still. It seems a little incautious to me.
BUT no offence to the bf drinkers, the research is not hugely clear about this is it?

washingonawednesday I have an 8 month old too,and we were left for another (younger, richer) woman too, also I am having a vodka and apple (no lemonade in). So CHEERS Grin

washingonawednesday · 26/09/2011 19:28

I have a plentiful booze supply and am very happy to share, but I'm in lands end- bit of a trek I suspect...

IQuiteLikeVodka · 26/09/2011 19:30

Indeed... North Yorks here, keep up the chin

Wimminsinit · 26/09/2011 19:31

Burn the witch

washingonawednesday · 26/09/2011 19:32

Iquitelikevodka- we should start a crap husband/ vodka appreciation support group! my lovely husbands ow is fat ugly and 8 years older. If he wanted a fat old shag, give me 8 years and I'd have got there! Nevermind- much better off without.

IQuiteLikeVodka · 26/09/2011 19:39

Well you can watch him weep when you are with a far better man than that!! People keep telling me that my ex will eventually show his true colours to the new 'girl' and I will have moved to bigger and better things by then,I hope that is true,it's harder to move on as fast as them when you are raising their child. However, what the hell do we want with weak bastards like that eh? (I think we have hijacked the thread oops)

YouWinOrYouDie · 26/09/2011 19:42

I judge you for being stoic, washing. It isn't a picnic when the little angels are still getting used to the new teeth scrape scrape scrape

Enjoy your evening Smile

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 19:45

I just got a BFP. Right now. First thing I did was pour myself a glass of wine. I'm drinking it this very second whilst MNing! Grin

IQuiteLikeVodka · 26/09/2011 19:46

what's a BPF?

FontSnob · 26/09/2011 19:47

Yabu, are your judgy pants particularly tight today?

FontSnob · 26/09/2011 19:48

Congrats Starlight.:)

YouWinOrYouDie · 26/09/2011 19:48

Big Fat Positive (test result)

Really Starlight? Fab if true Smile

AngryGnome · 26/09/2011 19:48

As others have pointed out, YABU. You are not particularly horrified at your SIL drinking and bf - you just dislike your SIL and are using this as a stick to bash her. If it was your best friend, would you still be so pearls-clutching about bf-ing 8 hours after a large glass of wine?

You seem inconsistent. You keep saying that you don't need alcohol to have a good time, but then bang on about how dull and dreary it is to be around people who are drinking. What - all people, all the time? This suggests that in fact you are not having a fantastic time not drinking. And also, if you are so contented to be a non-drinker why do you keep referring to giving up drinking during pg and bf as a "sacrifice"? Not much of a sacrifice if you don't do it anyway, surely?

I think you do miss drinking when pg/bf (no shame in that) and so you get riled when you see other women who are less strict with their alcohol intake. And, of course, you just hate your SIL regardless.

IQuiteLikeVodka · 26/09/2011 19:48

oh congratulations!!!! :) :)

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 19:50

Yes. It's true. Really.

And I have to hijack a thread and tell you lot because my DH is too BLIND to see the damn line and doesn't believe me, so my news is a bit lonely!

Hmm
IQuiteLikeVodka · 26/09/2011 19:55

Try shoving it up his backside! He may take notice then Grin

pinkyp · 26/09/2011 19:59

In think yabu I don't drink at all weather bf or not. Really from your responses your saying 'you don't need alcohol to have fun' - true but what the he'll has bf got to do with it? Get a grip Wink

SansaLannister · 26/09/2011 19:59

Gah, teetotallers are sooooo boring and tiresome. They're like the vegans of the beverage world.

wildhairrunning · 26/09/2011 20:06

Alcohol is too dominant in uk culture and a lot of cultures! You are entitled to your opinion op. It's great that she is breastfeeding though as there is too little of that in uk culture too!

YouWinOrYouDie · 26/09/2011 20:08

Thanks for Starlight!

IgnoringTheChildren · 26/09/2011 20:11

Congrats Starlight! My DH was also rather Hmm at the pregnancy test when I was first pregnant with DS2. I ended up doing another in the morning and then the following day before he believed me!

OP - as everyone else has already said YABU!

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 20:16

Oooh, where them flowers come from?

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 20:17

Can't shove it anywhere LoveVodka In an attempt to show him I took it all apart in attempt to make it clearer. He's still not convinced.

He needs a digital one I think. One that actually SAYS 'pregnant'

WilsonFrickett · 26/09/2011 20:21

OMG Star that is the best thread hijack I've seen in a while! Congrats Grin

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 20:30
